Willie Nelson's band members are lucky to be alive ... according to the man who called 911 after their tour bus crashed last week in Texas.

As we reported, 3 of Willie's band mates were hospitalized after their bus crashed along I-30, hitting a bridge pillar, roughly 80 miles from Dallas ... and it was real bad.

The caller feared the worst, telling the dispatcher, "I don't know how the driver made it out alive."

Willie wasn't on the bus -- he's got his own private ride. The other bandmates are out of the hospital and recovering. Willie's tour resumes December 10th in Vegas.

Just My Opinion

Well, Willie, it is because the passenger side got the worse of it, and it wasn't his time to go.

Just My Opinion

Just be thankful this Thanksgiving, Willie, because if they were in a car and not that, and it looking like this, you most likely wouldn't have any band members left.

It does not surprise me have you ever ben passed on the highway by one of these buses? The speed limit is 65 or 70 and they blow pass every car going 90 mph. Secondly how do you crash a bus like this on a thin layer of ice in Texas? I am willing to bet this driver has no clue how to drive in ice or snow. Lastly when was the last time you ever saw a bus pulled over by state cops in any state in this country for speeding? The answer is never.
