Chris Brown

Con Air to D.C.

Now Boarding

Chris Brown
has just been picked up by federal marshals on what will be one of the longest journeys across the country since the prop plane era ... TMZ has learned.

Sources connected with the case tell us Chris is on his way to a federal holding facility in San Bernardino to begin his long trip to Washington D.C. ... where he will stand trial for assault.

Later today Chris will board a airplane -- guarded by U.S. Marshals and appropriately restrained -- but the flight is NOT a non-stop.  In fact, we're told there are so many stops he probably won't get there until Sunday.

We're told all of these flights go through Oklahoma, with stops along the way to pick up other prisoners.

Chris will be in D.C. for a hearing Monday where his lawyer, Mark Geragos, will try to get the charges dismissed because he believes prosecutors inappropriately used the grand jury to gain an unfair advantage in the criminal case.

Now here's the thing.  If Geragos loses, Chris will sit in a D.C. jail facility until his D.C. trial kicks off on April 17.

Man I swear they're acting like this man has kill somebody. All of this for a misdemeanor, no there are so many ppl that are mad because he didn't get any jail time for Rihanna. Now their gonna try and throw the book at him for a bull**** D.C case. Same way with O.J they couldn't get him with murder so they found a bogus ass charge and now he is in prison for God knows how long. FREE CHRIS BROWN!!!

Haven't we had enough of the public flogging? How long will we continue to crucify him for something he did when he was a kid? We excuse boorish and violent behavior from adult celebrities all the time, yet refuse to extend a child the same courtesy. There is no excuse for what he did, age or immaturity included. There is, however, room for forgiveness and, especially due his age, a fresh start. Chris Brown deserves a chance to be himself, without having to feel like he needs to tell the world to F@%# off. I'll take 10 Chris Browns over 1 Justin Beiber. Lets stop trying to "shame" this young man with our petty ideas of social retribution.

I have NO OUNCE of sympathy for this dude.. He's had horrible advice from his handlers and PR team since he beat the living s*it out of Rihanna.. He showed not an ounce of sincere remorse for what he did.. instead he played like he was the victim.. I hope he gets time in jail... and for the record... I'm black..

Unfortunately he is a public figure (by his own choice) so he gets judged by many and it's not just the Rhianna incident...You act like a fool you get treated like a fool.

Clytemnestra

This time in jail, which he hates, and the sheer humiliation of this con air trip, may finally turn him around. He is getting a reality check on what can happen to him if he doesn't get his act together. If this doesn't do it for him, I suspect he will never straighten out.

Good riddance!

It's meant to suck! You don't want this to ever happen again? Then don't do stupid criminal crap. But that would take maturity and self reflection and yet this is someone who embraces the gun toting thug life and still paints sports cars to look like something out of a 12 year old's Hot Wheels collection. Yeah, probably time to get used to having more experiences like this, if these are the choices that you alone choose to make. .
