'Chupacabra'

Put Down

'Chupie Will Be Missed'

Someone dropped the 'Chupacabra' ... permanently -- TMZ has learned the weird-looking creature captured in Ratcliff, Texas has been put down.

Jackie Stock, the woman who found the animal which resembles a raccoon with mange tells TMZ ... she was advised to euthanize the animal because it was suffering.

Stock said after video of the creature went wide Thursday ... PETA started sending her and her husband messages, saying they were upset by the fact that the animal was in captivity and not receiving proper treatment.

She was also told if the animal really was a Chupacabra, it would have sucked the blood out of the goats next door before its capture.  Stock was advised it was most likely a raccoon with mange that was in pain.

Stock adds the animal was never examined or tested to specifically identify it.

She took it to the shelter and was told "it went to sleep very peacefully," adding, "I had gotten attached.  I was calling him Chupie.  He will be missed."

They didn't need to kill it. Sure didn't look like it was in any pain. Poor little thing. F PETA

Why the fvck was the poor raccoon put down without a proper examination? he was a healthy weigh, he was eating and drinking, in other words, with proper treatment, he could have had the mange issue corrected and been re-released to the wild. and YES it's a raccoon. The sounds it made, the hands, the haunches, the tail, the snout... it's all coon. this is a sad case all the way around. the only victim is that poor animal who didn't get the proper help it needed because a bunch of morons wanted to get on the news.

That was a Zombie Raccoon; did you hear those noises it made! They should have sent him to Hollywood to audition for a part in The Walking Dead. Then he would have been paid for his pain and suffering. What would PETA have to say then???

the reason it was put down is because Scientists have no explanation for what this is, so it makes them appear like they don't know how to do their job. The govt doesn't want the population in mass chaos over an animal that supposedly "doesnt exist" so it was put down WITHOUT having any sort of tests done, because they KNOW what the results would show. Just another cover up in this wonderful nation we call America.

I live in the deep south. I've seen raccoons and dogs with mange. Never does mange cause an animal to stand like a kangaroo nor does it cause dogs to eat with their hands.

The shelter is to blame they could have treated the poor thing! I rescued a dog that had the same problem and just as bad and 6 years later he is now a happy and healthy dog with all of hos hair! Way to step in and actually try to save the animal PETA I guess I can stop my monthly donations to you guys now!

Anyone that thinks it's a canine is an idiot...Pause it at 35 seconds, and count it's fingers. How many dogs have 5 fingers? None! Raccoon's do though.

It's clearly a raccoon. It just has no hair. All anyone has to do is google 'bald raccoon'.

Plus, it's not the first one ever seen before.

It's a raccoon. We have them around all the time, they do make that noise when they are afraid and trying to sound intimidating. I have seen them manged up but not to that extreme.

It looks like something else because when you think of a raccoon you think of the short, round face. When they don't have hair, that's what they look like.
That was a very sick raccoon, and good that they put it down and ended his suffering.
