'Chupacabra'

Put Down

'Chupie Will Be Missed'

Someone dropped the 'Chupacabra' ... permanently -- TMZ has learned the weird-looking creature captured in Ratcliff, Texas has been put down.

Jackie Stock, the woman who found the animal which resembles a raccoon with mange tells TMZ ... she was advised to euthanize the animal because it was suffering.

Stock said after video of the creature went wide Thursday ... PETA started sending her and her husband messages, saying they were upset by the fact that the animal was in captivity and not receiving proper treatment.

She was also told if the animal really was a Chupacabra, it would have sucked the blood out of the goats next door before its capture.  Stock was advised it was most likely a raccoon with mange that was in pain.

Stock adds the animal was never examined or tested to specifically identify it.

She took it to the shelter and was told "it went to sleep very peacefully," adding, "I had gotten attached.  I was calling him Chupie.  He will be missed."

1 - why is this woman capturing a wild animal that she thinks is terrible chupacabra?? Yet can't tell that this animal does look healthy and call a vet?? She just calls news stations??? 2 - do you really believe that some shelter just let her bring in some random animal and put it down no questions asked????

IT'S A HAIRLESS RACCOON. Took me two seconds to figure that out. AND, it appeared to have a healthy appetite. F'ing idiots who caught it and killed it. Was doing just fine on it's own.

Apparently mange this severe is only prevalent in Texas.

This is a raccoon that is (was) suffering from alepecia or mange. Raccoons have been do***ented suffering from a condition called alepecia which occurs commonly from birth in which all or part of the animals body lacks hair. This is not a dog as the animal was eating with it's hands and based on other video of another (raccoon) looks identical to the above raccoon.

this is a raccoon whom was suffering from either mange or alopecia which is a condition that certain animals have been seen to suffer with causing partial or full hair loss on the animal and is commonly mistaken for mange. seeing as no testing was performed we won't know if it was alopecia or mange . it is for sure a raccoon as I have seen other footage of a raccoon with the same hairless body and also on the show "weird, true, and freaky." it is clear that it's not a dog as dogs do not eat with their paws :)
