Ben Affleck

Booted from Hard Rock for Counting Cards

Ben Affleck Kicked Out Hard Rock Casino
Ben Affleck
's blackjack days are over ... at least at the Hard Rock in Vegas -- because he was just banned FOR LIFE from playing the game at the casino ... after security says they caught him counting cards.

Affleck was in Sin City earlier this week with wife Jennifer Garner. We're told he planned the Vegas trip as a romantic getaway before he ships off to Detroit for several months to shoot his new Batman movie.

But things took an unromantic turn Tuesday night -- Hard Rock casino sources tell us, Affleck was playing blackjack at a high rollers' table when security swarmed.

According to sources, security informed Affleck he had been deemed an "advantaged player" and was no longer allowed to play blackjack at the Hard Rock. We're told security had spotted Affleck counting cards ... a gambling strategy that involves counting card values to decrease betting risk.

Counting cards isn't technically illegal, but it can get you kicked out of a casino -- which is exactly what happened to Affleck. We're told security arranged for a car service to take him back to his hotel.

FYI, Affleck is a well-known card shark -- back in 2001, he reportedly amassed $800,000 in blackjack winnings (at the Hard Rock no less) by playing three $20,000 blackjack hands at once.

Apparently being smarter then the casino gets you banned.
Counting is not illegal in anyway or any country but they don't like you improving your odds so they ban you.

They want stupid people.

A steep penalty now that every casino on the planet is aware of Ben's prowess to earn the status of persona non grata at the BJ tables. However, the flip-side of it is that HRC made us aware about card counting and every Tom, Dick and Harry will try to emulate BA.

I say that's BS. If you can do it then it should be part of the game.

6 minutes ago I seen him at motorcity for about 2 hours in the high limit room. With both a waiter to serve him drinks ASAP and a security guard. I had taken a picture but was immediately asked to delete by the security guard. After I did this I then had to show the guard my photo gallery! The casino caters to him whatever it maybe. He calls before and they have everything ready and set up to where he is alone at the table. He also is taken through the casino staff doors cutting through areas the average person can not go unless u know someone high up can take you. I did notice for about a half hour him pacing back n forth from the table on the phone. This was the only time the security guard did not follow. He may have counted cards in Vegas but here in the motorcity he is allowed to play n since he is who he is they wanna keep him happy and not loose him as a customer. From a very important person at motorcity. She said he will always be welcome and if he really takes the time to count them. Then go on. They will do anything for him to see he is happy and keeps coming back.
