Chris Brown's attorney seems to have an idea where the singer's assault case is headed ... nowhere. But cops are saying ... the investigation's in full swing.
Brown's attorney, Mark Geragos, just suggested the case against Chris has fallen apart. When Chris was arrested August 30, he was due in court for an arraignment this past Tuesday. Not only did the authorities miss that deadline, we've confirmed cops haven't even presented the file to the D.A.
But law enforcement sources say ... detectives are knee-deep in the investigation, interviewing witnesses and compiling evidence. We've learned the arraignment date has been extended 15 days so detectives can complete their investigation and send the case on to prosecutors.
As we reported, Brown was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon, after allegedly pointing a gun at houseguest Baylee Curran.
Meantime ... Chris is cashing in on the whole ordeal. He's selling these shirts and, in his own artistic way, tells us exactly how he feels about Curran.
