Video shared on social media shows the Buffalo Bills star present Monday in Orchard Park, NY as the team returned to the practice field, though the defensive tackle did not participate in the session.
The development comes after authorities in Texas officially ruled his son's June 28 drowning an accident and closed the investigation without filing any criminal charges.
The Harris County Sheriff's Office previously told TMZ its Homicide Division had completed its investigation and no charges would be filed against Oliver or anyone else.
Oliver's son, also named Ed, was found unresponsive in the swimming pool at the NFL star's Texas home. The toddler was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Bills quarterback Josh Allen later said he was "sad and angry" that a podcaster revealed the family's loss before Oliver was ready to share it himself, while thanking those who knew about the tragedy and respected the family's privacy.
Ed's head coach Joe Brady says he's nursing an undisclosed injury. He played in the Bills' first preseason game but did not play in the second game. The team announced his child's death before the game.
