Josh Allen Calls Out Reporter Who Broke News of Ed Oliver's Son Drowning
Josh Allen Ed Oliver's Tragedy Shouldn't Have Come Out This Way
Josh Allen is not happy with the podcaster who revealed the death of Ed Oliver's son before a statement was released ... saying the report made him "sad and angry."
The Buffalo Bills quarterback addressed reporters during a news conference in Cleveland Saturday ... where Tim Graham -- a columnist for The Athletic -- says he kicked things off by thanking people who knew about the drowning death and held back on reporting it.
He then added, "It’s very sad in how it came out. It makes me very sad and angry at the same time."
Josh went on to say Ed's teammates are rallying around him during this difficult time ... admitting there's nothing to say or do when someone loses a child -- but you have to try and be there for him.
He later reiterated his distaste for the person who broke the news ... adding, "It’s very unfortunate how it came about. I appreciate (those) that knew and didn’t want to bring it up. It’s no one’s place to really let that out there except him and his family's when the time came for it, but we roll now and be there for him as teammates."
As we reported ... Ed's son -- also named Ed -- died back in June, a few days before his second birthday. According to local officials, they were told the child's parents found him unresponsive in their backyard pool. Ed was seen speaking to authorities at the house ... before breaking down into tears.
The Bills are saying Ed Oliver is injured and that's why he's not been practicing. I just discovered that he was connected to a terrible personal tragedy in June on his property in Texas, I wrote an entire article on X and it was pulled down by within minutes.
It's unclear why… @Tonysmarkettips
Neither Ed nor the Bills released the news ... instead, Tony Farmer -- a man with about 24K X followers -- who posted on Friday about the death. He revealed Ed isn't injured as the team has said but is dealing with the horrific tragedy. He's been raked over the coals by numerous people in the NFL world.
Josh recently became a father ... remember, he and actress Hailee Steinfeld welcomed their first kid together back in April.
