There's mounting evidence the celebrity hackers are targeting people they consider hateable ... because Octomom was just added to the growing list.

It seems the hackers have beef with every one of the celebs whose financial info they've exposed ... Mel Gibson, Kim Kardashian, FBI Director Robert Mueller, CIA Director John Brennan, Tiger Woods, Mitt Romney, R. Kelly, Beyonce, Jay-Z and others.

We've deconstructed the hacker website and it appears they have an obsession with "Dexter" ... references are made to the main character killing bad people.

Kinda weird ... it took so long for the hackers to target Octo.

TMZ has learned ... the celebrity hackers who have been on a tear over the last few days have added new victims to their ever-growing list -- Mitt Romney and Tiger Woods.

The hackers obtained full credit reports for both men. As for Mitt, the website has his social security number, phone numbers, as well as bank and other financial information.

As for Tiger ... ditto his social and what looks like complete financial data.

Also new on the list ... Kris Jenner and Stacia Hylton, Director of the U.S. Marshals Service.

We broke the story ... law enforcement sources tell us the FBI has known about the hackers days before the story broke, and they are "aggressively" investigating.

These hackers really have a set.

Celebs like Kim Kardashian, Hillary Clinton, Mel Gibson, Jay-Z, Beyonce, and Kanye West aren't the only ones screwed by the hacking scandal -- TMZ has learned, their business teams have been PARALYZED by the massive security breach.

Several of the hacked celebrities -- who don't want to be named -- tell us, the phone numbers published online by the hackers have been blowing up all weekend.

Here's the rub ... the numbers don't belong to the celebs -- they're numbers of the celebs' lawyers, accountants, and business managers.

We're told fans have been calling the numbers nonstop, hoping to get through to the stars ... and it's become a gigantic pain in the ass -- in some cases more than 500 calls a day to a single number.

The hackers responsible for exposing multiple celebrities' financial information fancy themselves heroic outlaws ... because they secretly idolize Dexter, the vigilante serial killer from the Showtime show.

The first clue ... there's a quote from "Dexter" at the top of the hackers' website -- "If you believe that God makes miracles, you have to wonder if Satan has a few up his sleeve." The quote is from the Season 2 finale episode entitled "The British Invasion."

But there's another more secret message ... if you search the website's source code ... you'll discover a link to a hidden YouTube video that doesn't appear anywhere on the hackers' page. The video contains the "Dexter" end credits theme music.

Then there's the obvious parallels between Dexter's "code" -- only killing murderers -- and the hackers' self-righteous vigilantism.

Among the celebs hacked ... Kim Kardashian, Joe Biden, Hillary Clinton, Mel Gibson, Ashton Kutcher, Jay-Z, Beyonce, Donald Trump, Al Gore, and Hulk Hogan. It's still unclear how the hackers selected their victims.

1:00 PM PT Equifax -- a credit reporting agency used by the hackers to access celeb info -- has released a statement acknowledging a security breach, saying, "Equifax can confirm that fraudulent and unauthorized access to four [celebrity] consumer credit reports has occurred.”

The FBI is warning celebrity hacking victims to put safeguards on their bank accounts NOW ... before the hackers rob them blind ... TMZ has learned.

Sources close to several of the targeted celebs -- which include Mel Gibson, Hulk Hogan, Kim Kardashian, and Beyonce -- tell us FBI agents have advised them to contact their financial institutions to slap fraud alerts on their accounts immediately.

We're told the fraud alert ensures the bank will contact the account holder anytime someone accesses the funds. The celebs are then expected to immediately contact the FBI.

The hackers who obtained Michelle Obama's financial records -- along with some of the biggest celebs in the world -- aren't just seeking recognition ... law enforcement sources tell TMZ they have been "using" the credit information.

Our sources would not be specific on how the information has been used, but it could involve access and withdrawal of money. As we previously reported, the hackers have obtained personal banking information as well as social security numbers and that could be enough to obtain withdrawals of cash.

We're also told the FBI has been "aggressively investigating" the case ... and it also strikes close to home, because one of the victims is FBI Director Robert Mueller.

Michelle Obama is the latest hacking victim in what has become an alarming breach of security.

The website that has disclosed detailed financial information about celebs like Beyonce, Jay-Z, Britney Spears, Donald Trump and Kim Kardashian has now upped its game, revealing very personal financial info about the First Lady.

The website has posted Michelle's credit report, which includes her social security number, phone numbers, banking and mortgage info and credit card details.

The website also hacked into Joe Biden's history, but the info the hackers were able to obtain was extremely limited. They obtained much more in Michelle's case.

When you click on Michelle's name on the website, it reveals this comment: "Blame your husband, we still love you, Michelle." So this could be more than sport ... maybe this is a clue the hackers have beef with Barack.

6:36 AM PT -- The Secret Service and the FBI have taken an unusually cautious stance by not even confirming the existence of an investigation ... although law enforcement sources tell us they are extremely concerned about the leaks and other powerful people who may have been compromised.

7:43 AM PT -- The FBI has now "officially" confirmed an investigation is under way.

UPDATE: 5:28 PM PDT: The list has just gotten longer. We've learned Britney Spears and Donald Trump have also been hacked.

Twelve big celebs and political figures, including Jay-Z, Beyonce, are the victims of a hacker who has posted detailed information about what appears to be their finances ... and we've learned law enforcement is on the case.

A website -- we're not disclosing the name -- has posted social security numbers, mortgage amounts, credit card info, car loans, banking and other info of major celebs. In addition to Beyonce and Jay-Z ... the site has snagged financial dossiers of Kim Kardashian, Paris Hilton, Mel Gibson, Ashton Kutcher, Joe Biden, Robert Mueller, Hillary Clinton, Eric Holder and LAPD Chief Charlie Beck.

The site was not able to get a lot on Joe Biden or Hillary Clinton, but most of the others on the list have had their financial info compromised.
