'Family Matters' Star's Jaguar

Impounded

5/18/2010 9:30 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Carl Winslow is gonna be pissed ... because TMZ has learned the guy who played his son Eddie on "Family Matters" just had his car impounded by cops in L.A.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ Darius McCrary was pulled over Monday morning after he allegedly ran a stop sign.

During the stop, we're told cops noticed Eddie's driver's license was expired -- so they ticketed him for the expired license ... then impounded his Jaguar for good measure.

We're guessing Eddie's gonna find a way to blame this all on Waldo Geraldo Faldo.

Darius' rep says the actor was on his way to work when he was pulled over -- and the cops were nice enough to call him a cab so he could make it to work on time.

Hey TMZ, get it together, he's an actor on The Young & The Restless now and I'm sure not too many people remember the players on Family Matters!

Awww. How nice. They called him a cab. Why in the hell wasn't his license up to date? Is it really that hard to act like a regular Joe and ensure you license is legit and obey traffic signs. I guess his job keeps him too busy.....

Those are some ignorant azz cops. They could have ticketed him with an appearance to show in court. they did not have to take his car. That happened to me. Nothing else better to do. Driving while black again?????

A driver's license expires on your birthday, McCrary's birthday was May 1 and assuming that his license had just recently expired, Californis gives a 90 day grace period for renewals. The cops should not have impounded his car if the state of California gives a 90 day grace period for renewals.
