Garcelle is of West Indian descent; she was born and grew up in Haiti. Her father was a lawyer, and she was not poor by her country's standards. She came to NY at age 17 to pursue a modeling career. She had been a successful model and then broke into acting ( "NYPD Blue," "The Jamie Foxx Show").

I salute her for believing in her natural beauty and not distorting her features (hello, La Toya Jackson). No, that is not horse hair on her head--she's got it like that. Her beauty is natural, real. If these posters knew anything about the history of Haiti and the Caribbean, they'd know that there are so many varieties and blends among the people. Nor is it so unusual that she married a French guy. After all, she speaks that tongue. Too bad she caught him cheating, and what a heartbreaker to discover that it had been going on for 5 years.

In regards to some of these comments, yes, jealousy is a hell of a thing. Whenever people are jealous of someone like Garcelle, they always pull out the race card, but this only serves to expose their ignorance and lack of refinement. A lot of people don't deserve what they have, and he's one of those people. I can understand why some people don't want to get married.
