Paris Hilton

Detained in Japan

Over Cocaine Case

9/21/2010 12:20 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

TMZ has learned Paris Hilton is a captive in a Japanese hotel tonight and can't enter the country ...  after being detained at the airport for hours over her guilty plea for cocaine possession.

A source close to Paris tells us she flew to Japan on business and was questioned by immigration authorities as she got off the plane.  Immigration authorities are allowing Paris to stay at an airport hotel until the matter is resolved.  For her part, Paris hasn't decided whether to stay or leave.

Paris' rep tells TMZ, "Paris Hilton was delayed by immigration authorities at a Japanese airport this evening after arriving for business obligations planned many months earlier.  Paris was contractually bound to her business trip and didn't want to let down her brands and many Asian fans."

An employee at the Consulate-General of Japan in NYC tells TMZ ... Japan is strict about letting people into the country with recent drug convictions but these matters are handled "on a case by case basis."

Paris' rep added ... she will fulfill her contract but right now things are beyond her control.

We're told there was a conflict within the ranks of those who questioned Paris -- some of whom felt it was for show.

lol, Hilton's really not going to be noticed in Japan, not at all with her blond hair. She would have been better off staying in New York and playing with DubLi.

Her and that little rat LiLo both need to be in jail. Give them a girls toy that makes noise and lock the f**king bars for months if not years.

Your cover story is hilarious. I hate to tell you, she's detained in a hotel room IN Japan which means she's already in the Country. Just think, my stay at the Comfort inn in Toronto near the airport means I never entered Toronto. Hmmm.

You guys are so funny. Jealousy is a worthless and obvious emotion. Your actions are speaking louder than your words. You call these people names and rag on them, but then you read the stories and comment. If these people dont matter, and I agree they dont, then stop logging onto this website. They are only famous because people like you guys make them famous. She only gets money from endorsements because you guys are waiting outside her house, following her to dinner and making her important. I agree shes worthless, so leave her alone. I was just watching MSNBC and they reffered to her as "being famous for being famous." No, that is incorrect. She is famous because MSNBC is taking time out of their news day, with a huge following, and announcing that she is.

I think this was a publicity stunt. To deny entry to someone because thhey were convicted of possession of a very small amount of drugs, so small that they were not jailed is insane. I hope this comes back to haunt the idiots who did it.
She is very popular there and her products sell very well, these idiot customs agents made the businesses tht sponsored her visit lose face and that means the retaliation will be brutal.

Her great-grandpa is certainly rolling over in her grave. After reading, "Be my Guest" - written by Hilton founder and her great-grandfather Conrad Hilton, you will be shocked! Conrad was an philanthrophic, self-made, hardworking man. It is really a shame to see the family name dirtied this way.

lol! I wouldnt let her into the country. Her parents need to take away all of her money. she needs to live on the streets for a while. get a dose of reality. stupid excuse for a human being. i would be ashamed and disown my daughter if she acted like paris hilton. There are real people in the world working their butt off and helping others and what does this lousy piece of slime do? nothing! i say send her to jail for about 5 years. hard time jail. not the fluff shes been in for an excuse jail.

the judges in any venue that has these girls in front of them really ought to not be able to see them or know their names - then they would get justice they way a lot of real people get justice - and that is jail time or rehab. and have to stay the whole time.
Japan- DO NOT let Paris Hilton into your country. Make the law stand for everyone.

#93 ("You people are such disgusting haters!

Your life is so worthless and miserable you attack people like Paris. So F'n what if she parties? You think all your favorite rappers, rockers, and others dont party?!?!")

Ummmm...no one said that those people don't party. However, Paris HAS been repeatedly caught breaking the law. She ADMITTED the coke was hers that was in her purse (therefore she IS GUILTY). She's had REPEAT OFFENSES...like Lilo. The same laws she's been breaking apply to anyone else partying with those illegal substances...if they are caught with them.

This isn't about "HATING" on someone. Her "celebuwannabe" status doesn't make her exempt from the same laws the rest of us have to abide by...however it does seem that she feels her financial status allows her to do whatever she pleases...that's called entitlement. The courts are getting fed up with people who behave this way and they are swinging the law gavel at them...that is called consequences. She made her choices...she gets her consequences. I'm betting...Japan is not going to allow her entry into their country. Perhaps she should try Amsterdam instead.

If she was on invitation to Japan then Paris would not have had any trouble with her passport services! Usually only military and english teachers are welcome in Japan with invitation only priveleges!
