'Idol' Finalists Tour Contract -- $1,000 per Show

5/21/2011 6:30 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

"American Idol's" top 11 finalists are set to make bank over the summer -- because TMZ has learned they'll each get paid $1,000 for EVERY show they perform during the American Idol Live Tour.

TMZ obtained a copy of the contract all Idol finalists had to sign before the show -- which spells out exactly how much dough they'll pull in if they're invited to participate on the international tour.

In addition to the $1,000-per-concert -- the documents show each finalist will share in merchandise profits from the tour ... and will also receive $50 in spending cash for non-concert days.

Finalists are also guaranteed to stay in "Marriott/Hyatt style" hotel accommodations while on the road -- and will fly coach between tour stops.

According to the contract, the tour will kick off immediately after the Season 10 winner is announced on May 25 -- and will go until the end of September.

Not bad for a summer job.

Making bank ? $1,000 per show is far less than I thought they would get. Should be $5,000 per show atleast !

That's sad. I can't believe that the producers of Idol are so cheap, all the kids are stars in their own right and have many fans out there, which means fatter bank accounts for Idol producers. get more for dating Flavor Flav!

"That's not a lot of money, and yes, AI is taking advantage in a way, but then again, where would these kids be without AI?"

And where would be AI without you voting?

They are getting the standard guild rate same as the backup singers and musicians which is as low as they can legally pay them, with the top 2 getting about 50k more.
These kid are not viewed as stars but simply part of the show, the judges and Ryan are considered the stars of the show making $5M to $15M per the show season, leaving the show with only a $1.8M budget. Even the recording contracts are only paying about 65% of 3 years ago. Its lucky that Interscope(UMG) and not Sony is working with the kids this year, as it gives them a better chance to make it.

SallyChi DON"T FORGET WHO WON!I believe it is reasonable what is being given to them. Without American idol producers they wouldn't get publicity and without the contestants there wouldn't be a show. If there is anything that needs to chance it would be for the winner to be paid more and get more credit for being a winner than the contestants that America has proclaimed has losers. Focus more of your efforts on the true winner who america elected. Give the winner the spotlight for 5 months or so and then its up to them to keep what they have been given perfectly balanced. You might has well give them 5 months most of them will be unseen for longer than that. People like to believe being runner-up is still winning. Runner-up only wins if the winner dies or refuses to take the crown. You might has well give the tenth place idol the runner-up name has well because that is what they would be if the first 8 die. A friend is to enemy has winner is to loser. What is the point of having America decide who should win the special key if everyone is just going to get a copy of the same key. What makes the key so special? Give credit where credit is due. I know. It is all about MONEY, MONEY, and more MONEY. It is a business after all.
