"Two and a Half Men" will turn dark for just a minute or two when it premieres in September ... because Alan and Jake will learn Charlie Harper bit the dust.
Sources connected with the show tell TMZ ... Chuck Lorre's plan is to make sure Charlie Sheen can NEVER come back on the show. Although the first show won't be filmed until August 5, producers have been kicking around scenarios, which include Charlie driving a car over a cliff.
Of course, it would be art imitating life, because two of Charlie Sheen's cars went down a cliff on Mulholland Drive.
As for how Ashton Kutcher enters the picture, there's been talk that he buys Charlie's house after Charlie kicks the bucket.
Sources tell us ... the first script still isn't locked and Lorre often makes changes until close to taping, but it's pretty clear -- Charlie Harper is pushin' up daisies.

Not to mention, that she is gonna kill the whole idea of a sitcom, which is to entertain and laugh. Death in the family? They are gonna turn such episode into a comedy? Good luck with the audience.
Unless Charlie's character was joking on the show, there was an episode where Charlie thought he was dying, and told Alan that the house goes to him in the event of his death.
It's Chuck's way of sending a sublte message to Charlie from the fellowship of recovery. Such a thoughtful man.
It's in bad taste to kill off Charlie Sheen's character. Why not say that Charlie Harper moved to another country?
Sounds incredibly unimaginative and boring, but then that's what i expected. The once great writing on the show jumped the shark long before Charlie blew up, even though it was still worth watching with Charlie. Now it's just walking dead. Kill it quickly!
Oh wait they can't do that, they need a complete season 9 to not be in breech of their syndication deal, and avoid getting sued for a couple of hundred million dollars.
So that show goes on....however awful it might be.

I remember that episode, they were both in the ER when Charlie told his brother he gets the house if he dies. But the only catch was that the taxes would be too high for his brother to pay.
tmz missed the big story about Sheen inking a new deal with lionsgate. (check radar, they have the exclusive). So tmz tosses you this worthless tidbit. Better luck next time fools.
LOL, this being leaked to TMZ today is a direct response from ego bruised Chuck Lorre. He must be pissed Radar Online is reporting Charlie has already inked the deal for a new similar sitcom and network bidding for it is hot, and Charlie stands to earn a fortune off of it. :-)
Talk about petty!
