'Big Brother' Jeff -- Homophobic Shots At Dumbledore

7/13/2011 6:10 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

'Harry Potter' ignited a homophobic firestorm inside the "Big Brother' house ... after castmember Jeff Schroeder said he would never send his kid to a "fantasy camp" run by Dumbledore ... because he's gay. 071311_jeff_homophobe_still
071311_jeff_homophobe_still

It all went down inside the BB house last night  -- during a live feed on the Internet -- when Jeff and Kalia began talking about the fact J.K. Rowling wrote Dumbledore as a gay character.

Jeff -- shocked by the revelation -- says, "He's in a school with little kids, you can't make that guy gay!"

He added, "It isn't right to have it in a little kids book, and have the head master locked away in this magical land, be gay. That isn't the right kind of writing to do."

Kalia responded, "Why? Gay men can't work with little kids!?" ... adding, "Just because he is gay, doesn't mean there is a thing wrong with him."

This isn't the first time Jeff has been involved in a homophobic situation on the show ... back in 2009, he used a gay slur to attack a fellow housemate.

UPDATE: CBS just released the following statement -- "Any views or opinions expressed in personal commentary by a houseguest appearing on Big Brother, either on any live feed from the house or the broadcast, are those of the individual(s) speaking and do not represent the views or opinions of CBS or the producers of the program."

@jack - being gay isnt a sin. acting on it IS a sin. it states it in the bible. it states that a man and woman should get together in marriage for purposes of repoduction.
a man and a man (or woman woman) can't reproduce, henceforth it is against the bible, henceforth a sin.

and for the people who say, 'what a man and woman do in the privacy of their bedroom is there business'... well people cant really do anything about that. but it is no longer in just their bedrooms. every tv show has to have a gay character now. judges on talent shows - gay judges. Tyra Banks shows - gay panel. they want to have parades for all to see. in san fran during their pride parade, they walk around totally naked in front of tourist families. a gay organization gives approval/disapproval to all tv stations based on how many characters they have on their network. so we are no longer talking about what people do in their bedroom, we are talking about them trying to make people see their lifestyle is OK, when in reality IT IS A SIN ! you can fool yourself... you can disagree with me... you can say what you want. bottom line... IT IS A SIN !

Oh please - it's Jeff - he's got the IQ of my shoe. I'd bet serious money on him confusing a pedefile with being gay; I mean listen to him - it makes perfect sense if you think of it that way. Jeff is a moron.

@ Randy

I never once said people weren't entitled to their opinion. I simply stated that your opinion and any one with it on this subject is WRONG. I have not bad mouthed anyone. I have simply stated that anyone with your opinion is clearly ignorant or homophobic. Your statement itself clearly insight*****red and therefore in the eyes of law would be deemed as wrong.

As for 'not natural' it's biological and evident through the animal kingdom it's as natural as differing hair colours. As for 'not right' again homosexuality is not against the law, so therefore a majority of human beings believe it is.

Oh and by the way homosexuality is not 'an act' your reference about 'unclean act' obviously refers to intimacy. Think about that a lot do you?

Marching the street for gay rights is not a choice it was a necessity for them to be able to live in peace, because of people like you with bigoted views.

& ‘speach’ is spelt speech!!

As NicoleRodriguez used the ‘sin’ joke, no need to respond.

can't be bothered writing anymore.... yawn

SO WHAT?!

Just becasue he has an opinion doesn't mean he's a bigot, GTFO with that crap!

I have family that's gay and I'm fine with it, so before all you jump on me, I am pretty aware and tolerant.

By that logic, straight men shouldn't be around children either. Too much risk that they would molest the girls.

And to me, Jeff seems like a deeply repressed gay man. As the saying goes, he doth protest too much.

Sad and frustrating to see a likable personality like Jeff be an ignorant homophobe. It's harder to watch, be entertained, and root for a pair of contestants that think that I, along with any other guys who are gay, should not be allowed around kids.

Where was the resident gay guy during this conversation? I like it when they put a gay guy or girl on the show that will speak up for who they are representing.

I wish the CBS producers made something out of this, instead of hiding it. This video has been pulled elsewhere....

It was all a moot point anyways, as Dumbledore's sexuality wasn't even an issue in the books.
Does anyone else think an awesome banner to fly over the BB house would be, "Jeff - I'm PULLING for you. xoxox Dumbledore"

@Teagan who cares if he says "Russell you're such a ***, dude" He's not saying that to someone who is actually gay, he is saying it in a way like "you're acting so stupid right now".

*Seriously? You see no problem with equating the words "***" or "Gay" with the word "Stupid"? Seriously? You can't see why thats wrong?

Yes, The bible can be interpreted that way, for example the Book of Leviticus states "Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind." in Chapter 18, Verse 22.

However, Leviticus ALSO states Ye shall not round the corners of your heads, neither shalt thou mar the corners of thy beard" in Chapter 19, Verse 27; "Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you"; "And the swine, though he divide the hoof, and be clovenfooted, yet he cheweth not the cud; he [is] unclean to you" in Chapter 11, Verse 7; & "All that have not fins and scales in the seas, and in the rivers, of all that move in the waters, and of any living thing which [is] in the waters, they [shall be] an abomination unto you" in Chapter 11, Verse 10.

Yet, those who use the Bible to discriminate against gay people do not use the same part of the Bible to discriminate against men who shave, barbers, people with tattoos, pork eaters, football players, and people who eat shellfish.

"Let he who is without sin cast the first stone" Do you know who said that? It was Jesus.

Jeff was my favorite player this season...until he pulled out this ignorant pathetic homophobic rant. How can such a cool guy be so narrow-minded. Oh well...at least now I don't care if he gets voted off. I hope CBS kicks him off the show. Way to go Jeff...

Ok, it's not our job to judge one another. What I don't understand is that the gay community gets so fired up when people don't agree with their lifestyle choices. They expect everyone to except their opinion on these decisions, but the moment someone steps up and disagrees with this choice they become a bigot or homophobe. I have friends who are gay and don't agree with it but that is their decision. People get off the gay right bad wagon and just except the fact that not all people agree. He could have definitely chose his wording better, but i applaud Jeff for standing up for his beliefs and not selling out just because he is on tv.
