'Big Brother' Jeff -- Homophobic Shots At Dumbledore

7/13/2011 6:10 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

'Harry Potter' ignited a homophobic firestorm inside the "Big Brother' house ... after castmember Jeff Schroeder said he would never send his kid to a "fantasy camp" run by Dumbledore ... because he's gay. 071311_jeff_homophobe_still

It all went down inside the BB house last night  -- during a live feed on the Internet -- when Jeff and Kalia began talking about the fact J.K. Rowling wrote Dumbledore as a gay character.

Jeff -- shocked by the revelation -- says, "He's in a school with little kids, you can't make that guy gay!"

He added, "It isn't right to have it in a little kids book, and have the head master locked away in this magical land, be gay. That isn't the right kind of writing to do."

Kalia responded, "Why? Gay men can't work with little kids!?" ... adding, "Just because he is gay, doesn't mean there is a thing wrong with him."

This isn't the first time Jeff has been involved in a homophobic situation on the show ... back in 2009, he used a gay slur to attack a fellow housemate.

UPDATE: CBS just released the following statement -- "Any views or opinions expressed in personal commentary by a houseguest appearing on Big Brother, either on any live feed from the house or the broadcast, are those of the individual(s) speaking and do not represent the views or opinions of CBS or the producers of the program."

For the record. Dumbledore was not GAY in the books. When asked later, after the books were complete, wether or not the character was straight or gay, J.K. Rowling stated that in her mind, while writing the book, she always considered him gay. There is not one single instance anywhere in any of the books, or movies where Dumbledore's sexuality comes into play, not one.

Everyone keeps blowing up about comments made against gay people. If they don't like it, change bitches. It ain't scientifically natural so if u wanna claim your "rights" don't be offended when others use their rights. I guess opinions are close to being outlawed. Nobody think for themselves anymore. Let's all think alike: Kinda sounds like a communist thing. No free will. Either think like us or else. They spew more hate than anyone else, they just whine like little bitches when they don't get their way. If they wanna live and speak the way they "feel", don't infringe on everyone else's RIGHTS AND LIBERTIES!!! We still have the 1st Amendment. It doesn't just belong to them. More power to the man. He SHOULD NOT APOLOGIZE! If he does, then why should anyone ever speak again? FREEDOM RUNS BOTH WAYS!!!

I think he's
entitled to his
own opinion and
it's okay to be
homophobic. I'm
not, but really-
who cares about
what someone else
thinks unless they're
a friend?

Seriously, homo's & homo supporters need to get their panties out of a bunch. First off, why would Dumbledore be gay? That's stupid enough and irrelevant in the Harry Potter series. Secondly, who cares if he says "Russell you're such a ***, dude" He's not saying that to someone who is actually gay, he is saying it in a way like "you're acting so stupid right now". Same with the Kobe Bryant situation. Gays - the world is not about you, stop being so self absorbed & thinking just because someone says *** or gay they're trying to offend you. Get over yourselves.

Americans are such prudes. Don't teach your kids about sexuality but hey let them watch violence, blood, and carnage non stop.

NEWSFLASH DIP SHIPS There is nothing wrong with sexuality. It is not some horrible thing that should be shunned. It is a natural part of life and something that should be taught. The taboo around sex is all a power trip perpetuated to strengthen the male and tear down the female power stigmas.

P.S. Religious fanatics are the single biggest threat humanity has ever faced.

If being gay means you shouldn't teach children because you'll molest them, then being straight means you shouldn't teach children because you'll molest them. It follows the same logic and is as simple as that. That's why it's offensive.

Who the F@#k cares, i don't understand why we need to hear about every little slur that comes out of somebody's mouth. Is it because there is no other news to report? What ever happened to freedom of speech? Again WHO CARES!!!!

@youdontknowjacque- FIRST OFF, Bible thumping is primarily in the Deep South, and most of Utah. You pigeon-hole an entire nation based on a just a few groups in the country. SECOND, America has gone the way of atheism, and if you lived here, which you probably do, YOU SHOULD HAVE NOTICED BY NOW. We have become a tolerant society you idiot. It's the few bad apples that are highlited in the media that brews this storm. TALK ABOUT INTOLERANCE? GAY MEN ARE LITERALLY HUNG IN COUNTRIES LIKE IRAN, BUTCHERED IN MANY NATIONS IN AFRICA. But do I think all Iranian*****e gay people? NO. AND NOR SHOULD YOU BASE YOUR OPINION OF A WHOLE NATION OF 350 MILLION JUST BECAUSE YOU HAVE NO WAY OF BACKING UP YOUR ARGUMENT. This nation as a whole has become VERY intolerant of religion. Not that I think it's ok, but I'm just saying how COMPLETEL WRONG YOU ARE. It's just the opposite you imbecile.

Melissa: So making excuses for an obviously homophobic surreality TV person is 'educating' people. He said it but since you were not there, you excuse it...just this once...twice....a third time....and so on. I think Florida might want you as a juror soon.

What he said is so much worse than if he had just used a gay slur. He clearly feels that gay men shouldn't be trusted around little children. Why else would he yell "THAT'S PERVERTED" then go into a tirade. It's scary there are so many homophobes just like him out there making excuses for him.

Thank God for "rights and liberties" as Danny suggests, because we can see for ourselves how idiotic a person like Danny is when he spews his ignorant stupidity.

I happen to be gay, and I'm living proof that it's not a choice. No one can change their sexuality. I've never been attracted or aroused by a girl in my life. I'm only attracted to the same sex, and I was born that way. If I could change, I would. Since I can't, I'm resigned to the fact that I'll always be this way and enjoy life just like everyone else. What else do you suggest I do about it? Ignorance in 2011 pisses me off.
