Lane Garrison

Domestic Violence Captured

On Security Camera [VIDEO]

4/23/2012 11:25 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

0423_garrison_security_videoSurveillance video shows Lane Garrison slapping Ashley Mattingly square in the face after he waited for her outside her apartment -- a much different story from the one Lane told his attorney after his arrest for domestic violence.

TMZ obtained a copy of the building security camera recordings from Saturday ... and the full video (below) shows the "Prison Break" star sitting outside his ex-gf Ashley's Beverly Hills apartment building until she arrives home. When Ashley drives into the building's garage ... Lane is seen stumbling as he runs  after her.

Lane and Ashley are then seen walking into the building together, but clearly arguing as they get into an elevator. Ashley seems to be asking Lane to leave ... but when he refuses, she gets off the elevator -- and then things get physical.

Just outside the elevator -- in the apartment lobby -- Lane is seen grabbing Ashley's arm with his left hand ... and then slapping her face with his right. After a few more seconds of struggling ... Lane runs out of the building.

In the final clip ... Lane is seen chucking what we believe is Ashley's mobile phone into the street, and then stumbling up the front stairs and leaving.

Yesterday, Garrison's attorney Harland Braun said Garrison told him he was in the building to dog sit for a friend, and just happened to run into Ashley in the lobby. Braun says Garrison admitted there was an argument, but claimed he did not harm Ashley.

Garrison was arrested for felony domestic violence -- and has yet to post his $50,000 bail.  He is also on a parole hold because of his manslaughter conviction.

I bet cops have the original cop and can enhance it. He probably wants her to drop charges, since he has so much riding on this, but she clearly should be charged as well. She is pushing him first and hits him in the face.

I suspect when cops view the entire tape - either they both will be charged or the charges against him will be dropped.

She instigated the physical assault by pushing him, then she backed off.. then starting pushing him again, then smacked him across the head with her arm forcefully...then she started pushing him again in the lobby...which is when he finally defended himself and pushed her arm off him, then made contact.

I suspect that Lane could file assault charges against Ashley but won't do it since he's walking a fine line right now. But she appears to be the aggressor and the one who is doing the roughing up, not him.

Looks to me like she instigated the physical altercation and was undoubtedly the attacker. Funny how women feel it's alright to hit men but the other way around and all hell breaks loose. She had him balls with the parole status too, boosting her confidence further I'm sure but once she attacks, it's clearly a case of self defense on his part.

He may have been going for the phone when he issued the slap, maybe not? Whatever, she needs to be charged with felony assault and the guy defending himself should be released. Maybe that'll teach that bitch to keep her hands to herself.....

She clearly grabbed him first while he was in the elevator. She went out the door and turned around and grabbed him. He should not have slapped her but she was the aggressor. She could have walked away...she was in front at that point.

I'd like everyone who watched this video to watch it again, but make believe in your head that the man is the woman, and vice versa. I'm SO SICK of women beating guys asses, then when they get hit back, they run to the cops. Now, in this case, I woulda given her a few hits.....HOWEVER.....when she started grabbing him and blocking his way out, she became the aggressor. I hope she gets put in jail. People need to learn that if they can't keep their hands to themselves, there's a pretty good chance the person you're hitting isn't gonna keep theirs to themselves.

Whoopsie. Guess he didn't see that camera there. And NO, SHE shouldn't be charged. She MAY have pushed him, but it's clear she was trying to get him to leave. The dirtbag sought her out and attacked her. Throw him in jail. Did he not learn his lesson after his first stint behind bars??

Did you watch the long version? Where she pushes him, then hits him with her entire arm against the head? Then starts pushing him again - out into the lobby?..and keeps touching him/pushing him? She had no right to put her hands on him.

He did;however, have a right to defend himself.

I've watched this over and over..and now I can't even tell if he smacks her, or if he is just trying to grab the cellphone out of her hand..

When he finally deflected her arm after she repeatedly pushed, pulled and hit her arm against his face -- that was self-defense... I don't even know if he even really "slapped" her...

She clearly roughed him up though.

If his charges stick, then she should get arrested too.

She instigated the physical contact. She pushed and pulled him and roughed him up... I bet he was "hurt" way more than she was allegedly "hurt".

I guess this is one way for an aging pornographic model to get attention..get a few minutes out of the 15 minutes of fame...

For the record, I think Lane got off easy on his manslaughter charge and all the other charges leveled against him and should have served a very long sentence...but this is a separate incident and has NOTHING to do with that.
