UPDATE

11:22 AM PT -- A rep for the Fulton County Medical Examiner tells TMZ, the autopsy has been completed and there were no signs of trauma or foul play. The cause of death will be determined by the complete toxicology report in 3-4 weeks.

gray-bar-update
"Kris Kross" rapper Chris Kelly had been using a combination of cocaine and heroin the night before his death, this according to the police report obtained by TMZ.

According to the report, paramedics initially responded to Kelly's Atlanta home around 3 PM EST -- after his mother called 911 asking for medical assistance.

When help arrived, paramedics found 34-year-old Kelly lying on the living room couch -- unresponsive and with "no life signs." The medics attempted to revive Kelly, to no avail.

Kelly was immediately transported to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead a few hours later.

After the death, cops spoke with Donna Kelly Pratte -- Chris' mother -- who told police ... the night before Kelly's medical emergency, he had taken a mixture of heroin and cocaine -- commonly known as "speedballs."

Donna told police she had personally taken Kelly home to recover from the drug use ... just as she had done several times before. Donna told cops Kelly had felt nauseous all morning before passing out.

According to the report, Kelly's mother and Kelly's uncle both told investigators the rapper had an "extensive history of drug use."

Hours before Kelly passed out, he had a phone interview with The Streetz Morning Grind radio show in ATL ... and sounded like he was in bad shape.

In fact, Kelly made reference to his hard-partying ways, which seemed to upset the DJ, who was personal friends with the rapper.

Poor bastard; seems to be a common occurrence with young stars that have short lived careers.

Parents and friends, if your loved one is doing this kind of thing, have them court committed to detox/rehab. It's not super expensive. Any attorney in any state can help you with it for a flat fee. Rules differ from state to state, but studies show that addicts who have the most exposure to detox attempts are the most likely to survive and get (and stay) sober. You have to be just as stubborn as the addict -- they stubbornly use, you stubbornly throw them in the tank to get clean. It will take.

Medicaid now covers addiction treatment services, so family members and friends can contact a staffer at a detox/rehab for more info on the new Obamacare coverage payments for detox/rehab stays.

Don't wait - there is a pathway away from death. You just have to get the addict on it.

This clearly does happen along all ethnic/cultural backgrounds... and although music seems a common theme -- the more prevalent them seems to be CHILD STARDOM. How many more parents are going to sell out their kids to Hollywood?

-

After so many deaths and downward spirals for child stars -- why would ANY parent want their kid to be a child star?

-

I know it seems I am railing on the MOM here, but it seems clear that parents of these child stars are enablers, or at least turn a blind eye, because they don't want their $$$ cash flow $$$ to be cut off.

--

Be a parent first, not a PIMP -- which is what a lot of these child star mommies are..

Sad, but I don't think he ever recovered from the fame and success from his early childhood. When you reach that level of popularity at a young age and then it fades, it can be hard to deal with. Where do you get that rush from screaming fans and people adoring you... You turn to drugs, because it's the next comparable thing.

No matter what the cir***stances are around his death are, a family is in morning from the loss of a loved one. There is really no need to call him names or say any of this negative wanna be funny stuff ---there's nothing funny about this situation. A lot of people in the entertainment business have an education. Just like any other person, they slip into this temptation to use drugs for some reason and this is the worse case scenerio (death). Some people you cannot help, they have to want it for themselves and sometimes all you can do is stand back, help them when they need it and pray for them. One hit wonder, two hit wonder, whatever he was someone's child and friends to many. Despite his lifestyle, they will miss him and now he is in a better place with no drug addiction.

People always talk crazy about someone else's death, until it happens to a loved one they care about. Then they want sympathy
