EXCLUSIVE

Chad Johnson has filed a motion asking the judge who jailed him Monday to reconsider her ruling ... TMZ has learned.

Adam Swickle, the lawyer whose ass was slapped by the former NFLer, filed the legal docs ... claiming Johnson meant no disrespect when he tapped the attorney on the rear.

As we previously reported ... Johnson was in court on a probation violation in his domestic violence case when the judge was about to accept a settlement that did NOT involve jail.  After the ass slap, the judge tossed the settlement and threw Johnson in the pokey for 30 days.

A hearing is set for Monday.  In the meantime, Johnson sits in the slammer.

Judge is a jerk on this one. She told him to thank his lawyer. The guy was cuffed so he patted him on the butt like he is accustomed to doing when someone performs well. Here it comes and I am Caucasian,I think she is a racist. I mean it. Not kidding. .

she's better reconsider!

she misconstured events and let personal feelings/bias get in the way of legal proceedings.

she should be ashamed.

Bieber and chris brown, and all those white boys who shoot up the public, needed her as their judge, where is real justice when we need it? Oh locking a man up for slapping a behind. Abuse of power.

Yes, it's HIS fault that the court allowed a bunch of people not involved with the case to enter the courtroom, laugh, and get the poor guy thrown in the pokey for a ridiculously harmless gesture. Oh, let's not forget her insisting repeatedly that he thank the attorney.

This was a huge overreaction to that slap on the butt. That's how they say "good job" in football and many other sports. Clearly she was not aware of this. She needs to reconsider now that she does know.

I support the judge 100% and what she did at the time! I would LOVE to see her preside over Lindsey Lohan or stupid F-N Chris Brown! I think, D-bag Chad learned a great lesson on how to behave appropriately in court and I'd be fine with him being released after this weekend. We need more judges to hold people accountable for their behavior - that's their job!!

i am on the judge's side and am guessing there was a lot more to this and the ass slap. in fact, i think all her 'attorney did a good job' comments were in annoyance that he was getting away with **** again. then you've got this guy in an untucked short-sleeved shirt, no tie, no jacket, getting away with going awol on his probation for slapping around his wife... yah, he's a douchebag. that said, i think she should let him out. a week in the slammer is enough to make her point, and she'll appear 'reasonable' if she accepts the apology. this guy looks like a menace, though. you can see the arrogance in his demeanor, and he will take down anyone who tries to exert power over him. despicable.

First of all, she probably wanted him to slap her on the ass, second-it was the courtroom specators she was mad at, but took it out on Chad. Therefore, it's HER fault and she should have disciplined the courtroom not the defendant. Looks like she's a total b*tch away from her job. SMH

He was wrong, I totally get that's how you say "good job" or "good game" on the field however he KNEW he wasn't on the field. He got what he deserved not everything or every place is the CHAD show he needed to learn that!! && hello those bailiffs that thought it was so cute and funny and completely lost their composures and laughed in the court room should be dealt with as well. Completely shamefull...
