Lil Wayne

American Flag

6/17/2013 3:15 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Lil Wayne
trampled the American flag over the weekend ... and there's footage.

Weezy performed the stunt while shooting his new music video for "God Bless Amerika" in New Orleans.

During the shoot, Wayne begins rapping in front of a giant American flag ... which is released to the ground. After it's on the floor, Wayne continues to rap ... while stepping all over the stars and stripes.

The lyrics to Wayne's song are just as controversial ... "My country 'tis of thee / Sweet land of kill 'em all and let 'em die / God bless Amerika / This ole' godless Amerika."

So we gotta ask ...

Obviously, this idiot doesn't like it here in America. Deport him BACK to Africa, so he can rap with the brothers.

You guys are pretty much all ****ing retarded. What really sickens me is that you point fingers at Wayne but you should be pointing the finger at yourself and asking yourself what makes you any better than him... The flag should of dropped to the floor to show the community people behind him, which happened but was positioned to close to him causing him to step on it. This is just poor set design and this is all it is. This isn't even the main music video and was recorded of a cell phone so it could of been retaken for all we know.

He's an artist, he is an American can say what ever he believes. I believe the dumb are the ones who just follow and never question why. The ppl of America have gave up so many freedoms that our grandfathers and grandmothers worked to get thier whole life time. I'm a 62 yr old white lady

Of course those who want to be offended are going to be offended and you're not going to change their mind. If he hadn't stepped on it, those people would be protesting that the flag was dropped to the ground. But I think it's clear that he wasn't doing so intentionally or maliciously; it happened to fall where he was standing. He wasn't stomping, he wasn't grinding his feet into it. His tweet does NOT say that he didn't see it - the wording of this article puts words in his mouth. He clearly says that it wasn't intentional, it just happened to drop behind him near his feet. What was he supposed to do, kick it out of the way? Yeah, that wouldn't have been jumped on. I'm not a big fan of Li'l Wayne, so I don't have a horse in this race. It was unfortunate and unintentional. Now, let it drop. (No pun intended.)

Anyone can see this is no accident. A lot of brave men and women have died for that flag so this walking talking turd can have the freedom to peddle his crap. The next time this piece of **** has one of his siezures, just let him go. Nobody will even know he's gone
