He might have a Heisman Trophy on his mantle, but Johnny Manziel is going to make a TERRIBLE pro quarterback ... a la Tim Tebow ... so says ex-NFL stud Jamal Lewis.

Lewis is in a position to judge, he was a beast during his NFL career -- helping the Baltimore Ravens win the Super Bowl his rookie year, rushing for 2,066 yards in 2003 (3rd-most of all-time), and breaking the single game rushing record that season with 295 yards.

So, when Lewis was at LAX this weekend, we had to get his opinion on Johnny Football ... who's strongly hinted he plans to go pro after he finishes his sophomore year at Texas A&M.

J.L. couldn't have been more clear -- Manziel will be a disaster in the pros.

Still, we gotta ask ...

All these guys jealous of Tebow's good looks and the golden standard he sets for ALL guys. What? He's hot, respects everyone, loves special needs kids, and isn't falling for every woman that looks at him. Those undisciplined, deficient in class and self-control sports analysts have a right to be intimidated: Tim Tebow is everything they're not. You've got DARREN SHARPER, IAN RAPAPORT, ALBERT BREER, ANDREW SICILIANO, the typical GIRLS whining and putting Tim Tebow down on air and Twitter to feel better about themselves. And then you've got whoever this guy here is - looking for a pedastal. They try to desguise their insecurity and obvious intimidation by the handsome and almost every-girls-dream Tebow with OVERLY aggressive sport analyst criticism. I know what really fuels their violent verbal outbursts against this nice kid. THEY'RE ALL JERKS WHO SHOULD GET FIRED FOR BEING SO CLASSLESS AND UNPROFESSIONAL.

In February 2004, it surfaced that Lewis had been involved in talks about a drug deal. Lewis was charged with conspiring to possess with the intent to distribute five kilograms of cocaine and using a cell phone in the commission of the first count.[8] Lewis reached a plea agreement with prosecutors in October 2004 and ultimately, Lewis was sentenced in January 2005 to four months in federal prison. He was released on August 2, 2005.

On October 31, 2011, Regions Bank filed suit against Lewis over an unpaid $660...,000 loan.

Really a legend and classy guy

NFL Legend? Who writes these articles? I'm guessing people that don't watch sports. You guys assume every athlete is a star. This site is hilarious.

Manziel would get crushed by the NFL at such a young, experienced age. Manziel already has questionable character so Jerry Jones' Cowboys would take him! (*and I'm a former Cowboy fan)

I didn't even have to read the article. The heading said enough for me to agree. Tim Tebow 2.0

I'll give the photog this:

He's certainly smooth at softening up his target, running through a few throwaway questions to drop the big one.

The only thing certain about Manziel's pro career is that he is going to be a nightmare for some coach. He so completely buys all the hype to the point that all the hype he gets now seems to him to be insufficient in describing his greatness. He has shown non-stop piss-poor judgment and gross immaturity since he won the Heisman and going pro isn't going to change that. At least not until he gets suspended a couple of times or cut by a cut of teams. But some owner or GM will buy into the ramped-up hype he gets once the college season ends and draft him way too high. Happens every year.
