Jay Z

12-Year-Old Rapper's Performance

1/7/2014 1:10 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF

Jay Z
did NOT pull a fast one on his audience in Greensboro, N.C., Sunday night ... when he brought a 12-year-old boy up on stage who stole the show -- it was all spontaneous.

We spoke with Angela, who took her 12-year-old son Justin to the concert in Charlotte Saturday.  She says Justin's dream was to "get noticed" by Hova and he was crushed when he was overlooked as he sat in the 8th row.

Angela says on the ride home they decided to give it one more try, and she bought tickets to the Greensboro concert the next day.  She says she was lucky and scored front row seats.

Angela tells us nothing was set up.  Justin jumped up with his sign and this time Jigga noticed.

She says after the concert Jay Z was true to his word and took them backstage.  They talked for 5 minutes about personal stuff.  No numbers were exchanged and Jay said nothing about signing the kid.

I hear some kid getting angry at a microphone. Im not sure its even good for child's emotional development to invoke such feeling at a young age. Rap seems just angry mostly, and if a kid keeps rapping about **** that gets him angry he takes some of it away to everyday life... Adults have easier time to differentiate...

If you believe this story, I have a bridge for sale in Brooklyn. Jay Z and Beyonce are the biggest, talentless scam artists in the USA today.
Playback, autotune, PR hype empty chairs.

All I hear is a bunch of envious ,jealous, mad silly a$$ broke people . First u upset cause Z and B make more money in one minute ,than most make in a month. Then your upset because the mother understands that sh!t cost money and if her son happens to get a deal, then he'll be making more than y'all broke fools. last but not least , don't get mad, because Z with a 10th grade education, can promote his business setup or not, and make 100,000 for a few show. You jealous losers. Go some where and be quiet, cause obviously your life sucks.

I'm not understanding why there is so much hate... How is this any different from any artist who invites a kid or fan to come on stage... All these comments of this 12 yr old being a thug or should have been encouraged to stay in school or assuming his mother is on welfare is kinda uncalled for... They talked back stage and he could have easily spoke of school and what his goals are... I thk ppl need to relax...

He did the same with a kid in Birmingham Al. named Cortez . He didn't rap but broke down and it was a wonderful moment. Bravo Jay Z.

I was sitting next to the kid and his mom. We were in the in 2nd row not the 1st. I bought my tickets 4 days before for face value on ticketmaster which was $143. Because the Charlotte show was the night before only people who live in Greensboro and Raleigh would go to this one and it being on Sunday night meant it was not even close to sold out.

Nothing about it seemed like a set up to me. His mom was so genuinely happy and the stage manager came up to them and told them to meet him at the side after the show. I know this is the internet and all but shame on you guys for ripping on a 12 year old.
