Horace Grant

Michael Jordan Crushes LeBron

... As An Actor

8/27/2015 3:11 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Don't hand LeBron James the crown just yet when it comes to NBA stars turned actors -- Bulls legend Horace Grant is riding with his old teammate Michael Jordan until LBJ passes one big test.

Horace was at LAX when asked him to grade King James' debut in "Trainwreck" against Jordan's movie skills. As Ho explained ... for him, MJ still takes the cake until he sees some receipts from LeBron.

But check out the clip, because Horace couldn't stop gushing about Jordan in a bunch of other areas too. You name it, Jordan's the best at it -- although HG did diss him on one topic!

God, it's almost like Michael helped this guy win 3 of his 4 NBA rings.

Arnold & Woody

'Twins' Reboot, Anyone?

8/25/2015 7:37 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Arnold Schwarzenegger ran into Woody Allen, and amazingly Woody survived -- since it was just at dinner ... but what an interesting dinner that would be.

The video's a little strange ... we got Arnold and his GF Heather Milligan walking into Madeo Monday night in West Hollywood, and literally 3 seconds later ... Woody and Soon-Yi cruised in behind them.

Woody might have been hitting up Arnold to step in for Bruce Willis ... who just backed out of an untitled movie that Woody's directing. Then again, it could be coincidence.

But we doubt it.

'Straight Outta Compton' Stars

We Were Starstruck

By Terror Train Heroes

8/25/2015 12:50 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

0824-train-heroes-straight-outta-compton-instagram-01O'Shea Jackson Jr. and Jason Mitchell from "Straight Outta Compton" are now movie stars ... but they turned into fanboys when they met the American train heroes in Paris.

Anthony Sadler, Spencer Stone and Alek Skarlatos were walking in Paris Sunday night when they saw the two actors who played Ice Cube and Eazy-E ... and before they could ask the stars for a pic, O'Shea and Jason beat them to the punch -- this according to Anthony's sister Arissa.

After a quick chat the actors invited the trio to the Paris premiere of "Straight Outta Compton" Monday night.

Arissa wasn't sure if they'd be able to make the screening because of security risks ... but the invite is sure cool.

As we first reported, the networks are all fighting for the first interview with Skarlatos.

update_graphic_red_barSadler ended up making it to the premiere and even walked the red carpet!

Marlon Brando's First Wife

British Actress Dies at 80

8/21/2015 3:11 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

0821-brando-kashfi-getty-02Anna Kashfi, mother of Marlon Brando's first son, has died in Washington state.

Kashfi married Brando in 1957, not too long after meeting at the commissary at Paramount Studios. She gave birth to Christian Brando in 1958. The next year she and Marlon divorced -- they fought for custody of Christian ... with Marlon eventually winning.

Kashfi said she was born in India, and raised in Great Britain. In the early '50s, she starred in movies with Rock Hudson ("Battle Hymn") and Spencer Tracy ("The Mountain").

She wrote a tell-all book about her life with Marlon in 1979 called, "Brando for Breakfast."

Christian, you may recall, shot and killed his sister's boyfriend, pled guilty to voluntary manslaughter and served 6 years in prison. He died in 2008, and was buried in Kalama, Washington ... the same town where Anna lived.

Steve Nash

Pass the Molly

... Strictly for a Movie

8/21/2015 1:49 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

0821-steve-nash-TMZ-01Steve Nash wants everyone to know how awesome it was to drop ecstasy pills -- when it was legal, of course ... so he's making a movie about the drug craze.

The ex-NBA MVP is producing the flick centering around the drug's popularity in Dallas in the '80s (h/t BSO) ... when it was legal. We know what you're thinking -- Nash played for the Dallas Mavericks from 1998 to 2004.

The answer is yes, that's when he learned about X ... strictly from talking to people in Big D, of course. Steve told Variety, "After poring over the material I found an incredibly unique story with so many vibrant characters and a bold history known as the origin to the rave scene ecstasy culture."

And you thought he was just racking up assists down in Dallas.

Dr. Dre

Apologizes for Abusing Women in the Past

8/21/2015 10:45 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF
breaking news

Dr. Dre
is finally coming clean about allegations he abused multiple women decades ago ... saying he deeply regrets the things he did to them.

It's no coincidence the apology comes on the heels of the success of "Straight Outta Compton." Critics have pointed out the film skirts Dre's violent past with girlfriends, a journalist, and a female rapper -- several of whom have spoken out against him recently.

Dre finally addressed it with the New York Times, saying ... "Twenty-five years ago I was a young man drinking too much and in over my head with no real structure in my life. However, none of this is an excuse for what I did."

He added, "I apologize to the women I’ve hurt. I deeply regret what I did and know that it has forever impacted all of our lives."

'Straight Outta Compton'

Sequel Planned for ...

Snoop, Dogg Pound & Tupac

8/21/2015 1:00 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

0820_snoop_and_crew_getty_composite-2Hollywood's not done cashing in on the 'hood -- a "Straight Outta Compton" sequel, of sorts, is in the works featuring the rise of Snoop Dogg, Tupac and other West Coast rap legends.

Dogg Pound vet Daz tells TMZ the movie will pick up where N.W.A. left off -- following the careers of Snoop, Nate Dogg, Kurupt, Daz and Warren G. We're told the title is "Dogg Pound 4 Life."

Tha DPG's music will be the focus, but Daz says the follow-up also won't whitewash gang violence and its impact on the rap industry.

As for casting -- we're told Dr. Dre's son, Curtis Young, will take over that role. No decision yet on who will play Snoop and Ice Cube ... but it won't be the same actors from 'Compton.' Dre and Cube won't be producing, but Daz says Cube gave him the idea to make the movie.

There is one huge loose end named Suge Knight. We're told he'll be included in the story -- hard to omit since Death Row was so huge -- but the producers won't be working with him.

Besides ... Suge's got enough on his plate.

'Silence Of The Lambs' House

Hits the Market

Movie Memorabilia Included

8/20/2015 12:50 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF
Exclusive Details

0819_wild_bill_house_launch-2It puts the house on the market or else it gets the hose again.

The 3-story Victorian home from "The Silence of the Lambs" – yes, the one used to hold Buffalo Bill’s skinsuit victims -- has hit the market, for a very reasonable price.

The 5-bedroom home, an hour south of Pittsburgh, was built in 1910 and its owners have barely changed a thing since the movie that won Best Picture was shot there in 1990.

Asking price ... $300k.

There are plenty of amenities ... a pool and a vintage caboose that doubles as a pool house.

0819_silence_of_the_lambs_book_sub2The place comes with photos the homeowners took during filming, and a signed book with the inscription, "Thank you so much for letting us use your beautiful house for our scary movie," signed by Jodie Foster and director Jonathan Demme.

There's also a wraparound porch ... perfect for enjoying a nice glass of Chianti.

Ronda Rousey

Get Her in a Superhero Flick

... Says Kevin Smith

8/18/2015 3:02 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Start sizing up Ronda Rousey for tights and a cape -- maybe even a utility belt -- 'cause she's got a serious future as an ass-kicking Hollywood hero ... according to comic book expert Kevin Smith.

Kevin told us Ronda's ready-made for one of those superhero flicks that tend to crush the box office every summer. Let's face it, she's already got an unmatched superpower -- ever seen anyone get out of that armbar.

Just keep her out of the 'Fantastic Four' flicks ... she deserves better.

Morgan Freeman

After Granddaughter's Death

8/18/2015 11:06 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

0818-morgan-freeman-splashMorgan Freeman bravely returned to work Tuesday in NYC after the death of his granddaughter.

Freeman's been filming the Zach Braff-directed comedy "Going in Style" all month.

As we first reported, Freeman's granddaughter E'dena Hines was fatally stabbed Sunday morning. Her boyfriend has since been charged with second degree murder.

'Straight Outta Compton'

Eazy-E Strikes Out

With Hardcore Sox Fans

8/18/2015 6:35 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

0818-ez-e-white-sox-hat"Straight Outta Compton" nailed the music and the attitude of N.W.A. -- but totally whiffed on baseball accuracy ... courtesy of Eazy-E's baseball cap.

NO SPOILER ALERT here ... but the opening scene of the movie shows Eazy in Compton, 1986, wearing his familiar White Sox baseball cap with "SOX" in olde English lettering. Only problem is the South Siders didn't adopt that version of their logo until 1991.

Yeah, we know ... only serious baseball historians/nerds would notice this kind of blooper -- and they did.

We're guessing director F. Gary Gray's response would be ... "Scoreboard!" -- as in $60 million at the box office. Plus, the correct cap is decidedly UN-gangsta.

'Straight Outta Compton'

Check Out the Garage

That Launched N.W.A

8/17/2015 9:49 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Lil Eazy-E and Dr. Dre's son, Curtis, took TMZ to the place of origin for N.W.A ... and it's awesome!!!

It's the house that belonged to Eazy's mom and is featured prominently in "Straight Outta Compton." It's the place where they recorded "Boyz-n-the-Hood" and the place where Lil Eazy-E and Curtis still hang.

You gotta check it out ... some of the same equipment they used to become a world force is still there.

Dr. Dre’s Son

Straight Outta

The Casting Process

8/16/2015 12:20 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Dr. Dre's son, Curtis Young, ain't no thespian ... which is why he's cool getting passed over for his dad's part in "Straight Outta Compton."

Our photog spotted Young at LA Live and he couldn't contain his excitement for his pop's biopic.

Seems like the guy Young was competing against was a lot better than O'Shea Jackson Jr.'s competition.
