Kayla Harrison made history in 2012 by winning USA's first Olympic gold medal in judo. Now 24, and still ranked first in the world in her weight class, Kayla is embarking on a new challenge - Hollywood. While preparing for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio, and pursuing a degree at Harvard University, Kayla will be portraying Rusty Kanokogi in the motion picture "Don't Call Me Sir" to be filmed on Coney Island and in Brooklyn, New York in 2014. Kayla's tenacity and dedication to whatever she pursues has rightfully captivated people everywhere. She has been featured on the cover of Sports Illustrated, The New York Times, and USA Today; in Time Magazine; on the Today Show, CNN, MSNBC, among many others. Kayla received the 2012 Women's Sports Foundation's Wilma Rudolph Courage Award, was named one of Glamour Magazine's Women of the Year for 2012, and placed first on Boston Globe Magazine's 2012 Athletes of the Year.
