TMZ has spoken exclusively with the minister who recently gave Britney Spears spiritual guidance. Samundrala Krishna Ma Charyulu says emotion got the best of Brit.
Spears, who was raised a Baptist and then turned to Madonna's ancient Jewish Kabbalah teachings, recently went to the Hindu Temple in Malibu with her baby.
Samudrala tells TMZ, "To be honest I didn't even know who she was until another visitor told me and all these photographers started getting out of their cars."
Samudrala says Britney asked him to bless her baby and then said she was seeking "spiritual guidance" in her own life. Samudrala describes what he did next: "At first she and her baby joined us in prayer inside our Ganesh Temple. I wrapped some Hindu cloth around them both and gave them some flowers to wear as part of the ceremony."
Samudrala says Britney then took part in the Chendur Kumkuman practice of placing a red dot of dye - like a third eye - on herself. In Hindu tradition, this enables you to increase your spirituality.
He says in the end, "Britney started to cry a little afterwards and then she was smiling but the whole time she was very humble and respectful."
