Buffalo Bills wide receiver Stevie Johnson knows ... when you sign a $36.25 MILLION contract ... you thank your boss every time you get a chance!
Johnson was out in L.A. last night ... celebrating his new 5-year deal with the Bills with friends ... and told us, "Shout out to the Buffalo Bills for signing a kid!"
Stevie continued, "I'm in a comfortable position right now ... I can take care of everybody now ... I can take care of the family now."
Johnson says the NFL has prepped him about how to be responsible with his fortune ... but as Stevie puts it, "You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make that b*tch drink."
