The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade stuck to its guns in the face of animal rights protests ... moving ahead with SeaWorld's killer whale float in this year's celebration.

There's been a lot of backlash against Macy's by animal-rights groups ever since it announced this year's float line-up, claiming SeaWorld is a haven for animal abuse ... as shown in the recent documentary "Blackfish."

PETA even tweeted today, "RT if u think #MacysParade should b ASHAMED 2 celebrate a place that imprisons, abuses, INBREEDS & MASTURBATES orcas!"
