Rapper French Montana didn't even put up a fight ... appearing in a NY courtroom today where he pled guilty to driving his Rolls-Royce Ghost without a license ... then quickly split.
French -- real name Karim Kharbouch -- was fined $588 ... which is due by Aug. 26. His lawyer called the whole thing a mix-up with the DMV and said French just wants to pay the fine and get on with his life.
