UConn's Braylon Mullins' H.S. Coach Says He Deserves Hero Status, 'He's a Bad MOFO'
UConn Hero Braylon Mullins No Surprise He Nailed Game Winner ... Says H.S. Coach
Braylon Mullins is being hailed as a hero at UCONN after burying the game-winning three-pointer against Duke ... and despite it being one of the most epic comebacks ever, his high school coach says the result came as no surprise, calling his former player a "bad MOFO!"
TMZ Sports spoke with Greenfield-Central High School basketball coach Luke Meredith after the Huskies freshman hit a Steph Curry-like dagger in Sunday's Elite Eight game, sending Danny Hurley's squad to the Final Four.
Coach Meredith, who says he views Mullins as his third son, told us his former star player has made "that shot thousands of times," living up to the nickname he gave him back in the day.
"I used to call him BMF," Meredith said. "Bad MOFO."
"He just developed that nickname -- be a bad MOFO 'cause that's who you've always been, and that's who you're gonna be this weekend, too."

Meredith says Mullins -- who committed to UCONN over UNC and Indiana -- deserves all the praise and attention he's getting ... describing him as a local hero who is now becoming a national star.
"I can't say enough good things about him. Everyone loves him, respects him," Meredith said.
"That's all he does -- basketball, hoop, play Fortnite, hang out with his girlfriend. He's an all-American Indiana kid."
Now, Mullins is coming back to Indy for the Final Four, and Meredith plans to be there to support his guy.
The No. 2-ranked Huskies will face No. 3 Illinois on Saturday, and if victorious, UCONN will be just one win away from its third national title in four years!
