Funny man DeRay Davis is dead serious about not taking any chances when it comes to seeing "The Dark Knight Rises" after yesterday's tragic incident ... telling TMZ he's only buying his tickets for daytime showings.

TMZ spoke to Davis outside the movie theater at The Grove in L.A. Friday ... we asked him if the Colorado shooting would affect his decision to see Chris Nolan's hotly anticipated new flick.

Davis gave us some words of wisdom about it ... saying that "fools" don't come out until after 9:00 PM so we're safer in the daylight. He also said he'll let his kids watch it -- but only from home.

He added, "It's real sad what happened. I feel sorry for those families out there ... especially the kids."

James Holmes Cops Investigating Sex Site Profile

Published | Updated

A man claiming to be James Holmes created a profile on a popular sex website just days before "The Dark Knight Rises" massacre ... in which he described his penis as "short/average" ... and law enforcement sources tell TMZ investigators are now looking at the site to determine its authenticity.

"Holmes" created the profile on AdultFriendFinder.com July 5 -- and included a picture of himself with reddish, orange hair ... just as officials in Aurora, CO said he looked when he was apprehended Friday morning.

"Holmes" -- who used the screen name classicjimbo -- included a cryptic message on the top of the profile which reads, "Will you visit me in prison?"

In his profile, "Holmes" says he's 6'0" and single ... with an athletic body. Note -- the FBI says Holmes is 6'3".

"Holmes" describes himself as a "light/social drinker" ... but in the section where he's asked if he smokes or does drugs, he answered, "I'd prefer not to say."

"Holmes" also noted that he's circumcised.

"Holmes" described himself as a straight man ... and said he was seeking a sexual relationship with "Women, Couples (man and woman), Groups or Couples (2 women)."

"Holmes" also notes that he's interested in "Erotic Chat or Email, Discreet Relationship, 1-on-1 sex or Group sex (3 or more!)"

In the section marked, "Introduction" ... "Holmes" said, "Looking for a fling or casual sex gal. Am a nice guy. Well, as nice enough of a guy who does these sort of shenanigans."

According to the website, "Holmes" last logged in to the site sometime in the past 3 days.

"Holmes" posted 2 different photos of himself -- including one shot in which he is posed in front of an image of a woman while wearing headphones.

If it turns out that it is indeed Holmes' profile, the information could be relevant in the investigation.

Christopher Nolan James Holmes is a Savage

Published | Updated

"Dark Knight Rises" director Christopher Nolan just released the following statement regarding the massacre in Colorado:

"Speaking on behalf of the cast and crew of 'The Dark Knight Rises', I would like to express our profound sorrow at the senseless tragedy that has befallen the entire Aurora community.

I would not presume to know anything about the victims of the shooting but that they were there last night to watch a movie. I believe movies are one of the great American art forms and the shared experience of watching a story unfold on screen is an important and joyful pastime.

The movie theatre is my home, and the idea that someone would violate that innocent and hopeful place in such an unbearably savage way is devastating to me.

Nothing any of us can say could ever adequately express our feelings for the innocent victims of this appalling crime, but our thoughts are with them and their families."

James Holmes Loud Music Coming From His Apt. at Time of Massacre

James Holmes' downstairs neighbor called a non-emergency police number to report loud music coming from the killer's apartment right around the time he was shooting up a movie theater nearby.

Kaitlyn Fonzi told The Huffington Post she and her boyfriend were trying to sleep when they heard techno music coming from Holmes' apartment at around midnight. Fonzi said she went upstairs to bang on Holmes' door ... but he didn't answer.

Fonzi, a 20-year old biology student at the University of Colorado at Denver, says she returned to her apartment called a non-emergency police number to report the disturbance.

She claims the song played over and over again until around 1:00 AM ... when it stopped abruptly. Fonzi says she went to sleep and was awoken an hour later by police telling her to evacuate.

Police received 911 calls from the movie theater beginning around 12:39 AM.

James Holmes OBSESSED With Non-Violent Video Game

Published | Updated

The man who slaughtered a dozen people and wounded 59 was obsessed with a video game that was anything but violent ... Guitar Hero.

We've learned ... one of James Holmes' classmates at the University of California at Riverside played Guitar Hero with the shooter all the time, and "for hours."

The male student is telling friends he is "shocked," never having had a clue that Holmes had a propensity for violence.

It's an interesting side note, because people with violent tendencies often act them out in various ways, and video games are definitely an outlet.

Another classmate of Holmes tells TMZ Holmes was never a trouble-maker. The two of them were in virtually every class together yet he was so quiet she hardly noticed him.

'Batman' Shooter 'He Said He Was The Joker'

Published | Updated

Colorado movie theater shooter James Holmes was sporting red hair and told people he was "The Joker" when he was apprehended by police Friday morning ... this according to NYC Police Commissioner Ray Kelly.

During a news conference this afternoon, Kelly said, "We have some information, most of it is public. It clearly looks like a deranged individual. He had his hair painted red, he said he was ‘The Joker,’ obviously the enemy of Batman."

ABC News is reporting Holmes made the Joker remark to police, not during the shooting.

It's likely Kelly obtained the information from Aurora Police Chief Dan Oates -- according to reports, the two are good friends. In fact, Oates was a member of the NYPD for 21 years.

Holmes may have been trying to recreate a scene from the 2008 movie, "The Dark Knight" ... which features a scene where The Joker, played by Heath Ledger, wears a red wig while destroying a hospital.

'Batman' Massacre Victim Had Avoided Mall Shooting Last Month

Published | Updated

One of the 12 people shot and killed in the "Dark Knight Rises" massacre in Colorado this morning had narrowly avoided a shooting spree in a Toronto mall last month.

Jessica Redfield -- who was an aspiring sportscaster -- posted a blog entry on June 5, detailing how she left the mall minutes before a gunman opened fire inside the food court.

On her blog, "A Run of Thoughts," Redfield says she initially wanted to get sushi ... but changed her mind at the last minute and got a "greasy burger" instead. The time on her receipt read 6:20 PM.

Redfield says, for no apparent reason, she decided to go outside and get some fresh air.

At 6:23 ... gunfire rang out inside the food court. One person was killed.

Jessica had written, "Had I had sushi, I would’ve been in the same place where one of the victims was found."

Last night, Redfield tweeted about how excited she was to see the new Batman movie ... and jokingly bragged about having to "coerce a guy" into accompanying her to the midnight showing.

Redfield posted her last tweet right before the flick ... writing, "MOVIE DOESN'T START FOR 20 MINUTES."

Due to the deranged actions of a 24-year-old psychopath, it was Redfield's final tweet.

Aurora, CO Police Chief Dan Oates just addressed the media about the explosive device they've found inside James Holmes' studio apartment.

According to Oates ... there's a lot of "explosive material" inside the apartment, and they are trying to figure out how to get inside without setting off the bomb.

Oates says they've evacuated a total of 5 buildings in the area.
