A college baseball player allegedly ambushed an elderly man in a California bar, knocking the HELL out of him during a drunken altercation that was all caught on video.
Law enforcement sources tell TMZ ... Owen Hayes, 21, allegedly got into a heated confrontation with an 84-year-old man inside a Santa Clarita dive bar -- and the tensions soon turned violent.
Check out video, obtained by TMZ, which shows the fight that took place in the early morning hours of February 28. It starts with one guy arguing with the geriatric customer, as another man eventually steps between them.

Prosecutors in Diddy's case are revealing the names of the 3 alleged victims in his federal indictment, but only for Diddy's attorneys to see ... for now.
According to a motion filed by Diddy on March 6, the disgraced music mogul requested the names of the three anonymous accusers and witnesses listed in the government's letter outlining the federal Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations case against him.
The judge reviewed Diddy's motion and ordered the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York to hand over the names to Diddy's defense by March 10.

Luigi Mangione says the cops who arrested him at a Pennsylvania McDonald's got a DNA sample with a little trickery ... by offering him a snack.
The accused murderer's legal team is now arguing police violated Luigi's rights when they arrested and questioned him ... and he wants the evidence they collected thrown out ... according to new court documents.
In the docs, obtained by TMZ, Luigi says cops pulled a fast one on him after arresting him at McDonald's in Altoona, PA ... giving him some food and soda at the police station as a means of getting a sample of his DNA.

5:40 PM PT -- Diddy's legal team tells TMZ ... "Our written and oral communications with CNN’s counsel were clear - they destroyed the original video file they received from their source."
CNN is vehemently denying claims by Diddy's legal team that the cable news network altered footage of him beating Cassie in a hotel hallway and then destroyed the only known copy of the video.
A spokesperson for CNN tells TMZ ... "CNN never altered the video and did not destroy the original copy of the footage, which was retained by the source. CNN aired the story about the video several months before Combs was arrested."

Diddy and federal prosecutors are at odds over the jury selection process for his upcoming criminal trial ... and his defense team wants to cast a wide net.
According to new legal docs, obtained by TMZ, Diddy's legal squad wants to begin jury selection on May 5 ... and they want to pick from a massive pool of 600 jurors.
Prosecutors, meanwhile, want to get started with jury selection next month ... proposing an April 21 start date, which Diddy's camp is balking at because they want more time to prepare his defense.

Video shows Tucker, a Brookville High School junior, running past Everett, a senior at I.C. Norcom High School, as they rounded the track during the second leg of the competition.

A new bill proposed in Texas could charge transgender people with a state felony if they lie about their biological sex assigned at birth ... and two lawmakers are defending the harsh punishment.
Texas State Reps. Steve Toth and Nate Schatzline joined us on "TMZ Live" Tuesday and we asked them about the proposed bill that would add a new form of fraud related to gender identity.
As Toth and Schatzline explain, the bill -- Texas House Bill 3817 -- says a transgender Texan would commit "gender identity fraud" if they lie on state records or to employers about their biological sex ... and they would be charged with a state felony, which is punishable by up to two years behind bars.

A University of Pittsburgh student went missing during her Spring Break trip to the Dominican Republic ... and, authorities say she was last seen strolling on the beach.
Sudiksha Konanki -- a 20-year-old student -- went missing while on a trip with her friends to Punta Cana, a small town on the eastern edge of the island nation.
Konanki was last seen at 4:50 AM local time on Thursday at the Riu Republica Resort according to the missing persons poster shared online.
Chiefs' Xavier Worthy No Charges in Domestic Violence Case
Xavier Worthy is off the hook in his domestic violence case -- no charges will be filed against him … TMZ has confirmed.
The District Attorney in Williamson County, Texas says after further investigation by the Sheriff’s Office and a discussion with a third-party witness, Xavier’s case was being declined at this time. Xavier’s attorney also confirmed the DA’s decision to TMZ. Xavier and his lawyers are fully cooperating with law enforcement.
As we reported … Xavier was arrested Friday night on suspension of domestic violence -- specifically, an assault against a family or household member by impeding their breathing or circulation, so seemingly choking. It's still unclear exactly what occurred ... but at the time, the charge was a third-degree felony.
