A top primatologist is trying to bring some reason into the hundred men vs one gorilla debate ... explaining the main reason why a fight like this wouldn't go down -- and arguing this paints these beautiful creatures in a bad light.

We spoke with Michael Stern -- a Harvard-trained primatologist with decades of experience studying gorillas both in captivity and in the wild in Uganda -- and, he tells us the main reason this debate is so silly is because one gorilla would look around, see it was outnumbered and take off.

Stern says this is the equivalent of asking if a unicorn could take down a dinosaur -- or if a shark with a laser beam could blow up a submarine!

Joshua Jackson and Jodie Turner-Smith are on the same page when it comes to most of their divorce terms -- but when it comes to grade school, they're still going at it in court.

According to new legal docs, obtained by TMZ, Joshua and Jodie have hammered out a divorce settlement. According to the docs, the couple used a mediator to come up with a temporary schedule to govern the 50-50 custody of their daughter, Juno.

What they can't agree on is ... where Juno's gonna go to school, and now Jodie wants the judge to force Joshua to adhere to a court order that gives her the power to pick Juno's elementary school.

Elizabeth Smart’s kidnapper Wanda Barzee may or may not be smiling after her arrest on Thursday ... but there’s no doubt she was one happy camper posing for her mugshot for Utah’s Sex Offender Registry.

TMZ has obtained the photo of Barzee from the registry -- and the convicted criminal could not have looked more jovial. Check out her big fat grin, showing off her yellow-stained teeth.

She also flashes her wild eyes and messy white hair with moles on her face and neck. The registry lists, among other things, her height, weight and 11 aliases along with details about her federal conviction for abducting Smart.

Star Jacksonville defensive end Arik Armstead is thrilled the Jaguars got two-way phenom Travis Hunter ... telling TMZ Sports he's super pumped to welcome his new teammate -- even if the Heisman winner doesn't spend much time on his side of the ball.

"I think this is rare air," Armstead -- who actually announced the big pick at the draft -- told us. "We have a player here who would have been a first-round pick as a receiver or a cornerback. Ryan Seacrest is breaking California law by promoting an illegal online casino ... at least according to a new lawsuit.

The "American Idol" and "Wheel of Fortune" host is being sued by a California resident named Aubrey Carillo, who allegedly lost money on an online casino Ryan often promotes on social media.

In the lawsuit, obtained by TMZ, Carillo claims ChumbaCasino.com is operating illegally in California and Ryan is serving as the operation's official celebrity endorser.

Francis Ngannou is opening up on the tragic motorcycle accident that resulted in a young woman's death ... saying his "heart is shattered" by the "devastating loss of life."

According to news outlets in Cameroon, Ngannou was driving the motored vehicle when he struck a female in the streets of Yaounde late last month.
