Random street attacks are not just an issue in the U.S. of A ... they're also a problem in South America -- with the latest victim being a child in Brazil and the incident was all caught on video.

Check out the surveillance footage ... the girl was strolling down a sidewalk with her mother as another lady walked towards them in the opposite direction.

As the two parties passed each other, the lady smacked the girl upside her face, causing her head to snap back. The mom pulled her daughter close and said something to the lady.

The Florida alligator that ate a homeless woman last year got killed and cut open by officials once they discovered the grisly act -- and now ... we're seeing all the aftermath on tape.

TMZ has obtained new photos/video from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission that shows exactly what they did when they learned the beast had killed and eaten Sabrina Peckham -- who was living in an encampment near a canal in Largo.

The body cam video shows the moments after the gator had been shot and killed -- with Wildlife officials fishing the animal out of the water and throwing it on a truck bed ... and later cutting it open to get the poor woman's body parts out from inside its guts.

A Virginia state trooper was sent flying to the ground after a drunk driver slammed into her patrol car during a separate DUI stop -- and the whole thing was caught on video.

This all unfolded when Trooper C. Aziz responded to a sedan stopped in a lane on Interstate 495 Tuesday in Fairfax County ... and as you can see from the cop's dashcam, she's at the driver's window attempting to coax her to exit the vehicle or move it to the shoulder.

It's right then when another vehicle hits her patrol car from behind -- which is reported to have been a Jeep Cherokee -- and you can see the trooper get rammed from the front.

NASA freaked people out after accidentally broadcasting a simulation of astronauts being in an emergency situation out in space -- but turns out ... it was just a false alarm.

The federal agency's YouTube channel went live this week with audio of a female guiding crew members on what to do in an emergency -- with lines like "get the commander back in his suit," "check his pulse, give him oxygen," etc.

The Wisconsin high school official who got shoved aside by the father of a graduating senior is speaking out on the incident ... saying an apology here is too little, too late.

Superintendent Rainey Briggs -- who was onstage at Baraboo High during the now-infamous graduation ceremony -- told media outlets attorneys for Matthew Eddy contacted him Monday with an informal apology from the dad ... but it sounds like it didn't go over well.

Briggs told Daily Mail, "An apology just doesn't make things go away." He says Eddy caused "a lot of harm" by rushing the stage and physically preventing Briggs from shaking his daughter's hand.

A crook hijacked a city bus in Atlanta, holding the driver at gunpoint and taking passengers hostage before leading cops on a high-speed pursuit across the city ... ending in a death.

Aerial footage shows law enforcement pursuing the bus through Atlanta Tuesday ... the bus speeds through city streets, weaves through traffic and smashes through civilian cars and cop cars during a chase that played out over miles and miles of road.

When police finally stopped the bus, passengers ran for safety ... and the suspect was hauled off in handcuffs. SWAT officers cleared the bus and found a passenger suffering from a gunshot wound. They were rushed to a hospital in critical condition and ended up dying.

"To set the record straight, I do not have a contract with MLE or Nathans and they are looking to change the rules from past years as it relates to other partners I can work with. This is apparently the basis on which I’m being banned, and it doesn’t impact the July 4th event."

"Sadly, this is the decision Nathan's and Major League Eating are making, and it will deprive the great fans of the holiday’s usual joy and entertainment. To my fans, I love you and appreciate you.  Rest assured that you’ll see me eat again soon!! STAY HUNGRY!"

This is a doggone shame.

Joey Chestnut -- the world's greatest eater -- will not defend his mustard belt at the Nathan's Hot Dog contest this year ... and it's all the result of a sponsorship deal he inked with a rival company.

According to the NY Post, Chestnut recently joined forces with Impossible Foods to promote its new plant-based alternative to tube steaks ... which created major issues with organizers and the governing body -- Major League Eating.
