Constantine's Greek Tragedy

9/13/2006 6:46 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Constantine MaroulisAppearing on "American Idol" can lead to great success and even Grammy Awards or... not!

For every Kelly Clarkson there are record store bargain bins littered with the failed careers of the reality show's contestants.

Former "Idol" non-winner Constantine Maroulis may not exactly be slinging hash at Applebee's yet, but the once buzzed about rocker is slowly watching his career hit the Guarini zone.

Although he has landed a role in the Broadway musical "The Wedding Singer", Maroulis is also still making ends meet by performing in local food festivals. Ay-yi-yi!

The Brooklyn native is scheduled to perform at the Greek Food Festival of Dallas at the end of the month. And for a whopping $10 admission price, hungry fans get entrance to the festival, lunch and Constantine's performance.

Not even Paula Abdul can find something hopeful to say to Constantine about that.

I disagree with the article. He is wonderful to go to Dallas so the southern fans can enjoy his performance and to support the Greek community there.

His Wedding Singer show on Broadway is going great and he will be in more shows as well. He is performing at the Viper Room in LA on Tuesday with his new band and that is so exciting. His new CD is coming out in the near future. I am very excited about his career!

I had a great cultural experience Saturday at the Dallas Greek Festival! OPA!! There was great Greek music, dancing and food! The dessert was awesome!! Constantine of course!! Things really heated up when he came on stage and performed! I thought it was so great the way he gave attention to the little kids! He actually jumped off the stage during the performance to sign a little boy's cast that had a broken arm. How Special!! I loved the Beatle song he performed, but he can sing anything!!! He is a very talented and gifted artist! I can't wait to hear more from him. I had a blast!!

yeah, he's on Broadway, but that doesn't mean anything. Even Aaron Carter was on Broadway before.
