'Idol' Judge Accused of Stealing Dance Show

2/3/2010 2:12 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF

Randy Jackson 'Idol' JudgeRandy Jackson isn't used to stealing the show -- but according to a new lawsuit, that's exactly what he did with "America's Best Dance Crew."

The Dawg and MTV are being sued by a guy named Dwight McGhee -- who claims the two powerhouses ripped off his idea for a reality show about a dance crew ... called "International Breakerz League."

According to the lawsuit, filed last week in L.A. County Superior Court, McGhee claims he pitched his show idea -- which he calls "uncannily similar" to ABDC -- to MTV back in 2004.

Fast forward four years later: ABDC premieres on MTV ... and McGhee is pissed, claiming he and MTV struck an "implied" contract when he pitched his concept.

Now, McGhee wants Randy and MTV to pay more than $2,000,000 for his trouble. Good luck with that.

No immediate comment from Jackson or MTV.

I KNOW

I did a little research on this issue and the facts are more than clear. Most people who claim to have been taken by big corporations and celebrities more than likely have been, but didn't follow the proper steps to secure their idea. However, from what I can uncover, Mr. Mcghee did follow the proper steps, including securing a copyright of this idea in 2004 as well as with the writer's guild of Los Angeles. I am inpressed. Looks like Mr. Mcghee can practice his step-ball-change, hitch-kick dance move that will inevitibly land in the face of Mr. Randy Jackson and Mtv.

This is common practice in the industry and we are fighting back! Dwight, you need to get in touch with us NOW...before your case ends up like the rest of those thrown out of Court on Summary Judgment..read this article by Attorney Steven Lowe which recently further substantiated our claims in his fascinating article “Death of Copyright”. Mr. Lowe alleges that, over the last 20 years, 100% of copyright lawsuits filed against the networks/studios ruled in their favor and 46/48 were thrown out of court on Summary Judgment. Throwing a case out of court on Summary Judgment is basically saying that there are no issues to try; therefore no need to go to trial; there is no way that the Plaintiff could win. The Judge simply signs off on the motion, the case is dismissed and we, hardworking, law abiding Independent/ artists are denied our 7th Amendment Constitutional right to an unbiased jury trial of our peers!

SO OUT OF ALL THOSE CASES OVER 90% NEVER SAW THE COURT ROOM AND THE INDEPENDENT/ARTIST NEVER SAW ONE DIME!

THE DO***ENTARY "INJUSTICE FOR ALL..SUMMARY misJUDGMENT" DETAILS HOW HOLLYWOOD (ALLEGEDLY) STEALS, IN THE NAME OF THE LAW! HOLLA'BACK AT US DWIGHT...WORK WITH PEOPLE WHO ARE, TRULY REPRESENTING YOUR BEST INTERESTE...JOIN OUR FIGHT BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE!

Comment #16: You obviously did just what you stated a "little" research. This is the typical mentality of the general public..you assume that we haven't taken care of our business and thus somehow deserved for our works to be stolen by these alleged crooks. Please go back to your research and do a more thorough job; all of our works were copyrighted; you can't even bring a lawsuit without it! Summary Judgment allows these multimillionaires to allegedly steal..in the name of the law! You go to court and NEVER SEE A JURY; AN UNBIASED JURY OF YOUR PEERS WHICH IS MANDATED BY THE CONSTITUTION!

Our do***entary "InJustice for All...Summary misJudgment" will clarify many of these common misconceptions that you and the general public have about us when we alledge that these multimillionaires steal our work..WE ARE FIGHTING BACK..AND WILL NOT STOP UNTIL WE GET OUR 7TH AMENDMENT RIGHT TO A JURY TRIAL OF OUR PEERS!!!

For those of you who don't think that celebrities and studios often steal Independent Artists ideas ... check out this link and you will never have doubt again. http://www.poorpennyproductions.com/ Click on SAVE INDEPENDENT ARTIST: http://www.poorpennyproductions.com/index/mn32080/Inside_Scoop After viewing this page, chect out read how universal music group has stolen Rene Carranza's entire ALBUM. I have been victimized on 4 occasions and finally had enough when Eddie Murphy and Universal Studios stole two of my plays to create the hit movie, Life with Eddie Murphy and Martin Lawrence.
