Paris Hilton

Detained in Japan

Over Cocaine Case

9/21/2010 12:20 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

TMZ has learned Paris Hilton is a captive in a Japanese hotel tonight and can't enter the country ...  after being detained at the airport for hours over her guilty plea for cocaine possession.

A source close to Paris tells us she flew to Japan on business and was questioned by immigration authorities as she got off the plane.  Immigration authorities are allowing Paris to stay at an airport hotel until the matter is resolved.  For her part, Paris hasn't decided whether to stay or leave.

Paris' rep tells TMZ, "Paris Hilton was delayed by immigration authorities at a Japanese airport this evening after arriving for business obligations planned many months earlier.  Paris was contractually bound to her business trip and didn't want to let down her brands and many Asian fans."

An employee at the Consulate-General of Japan in NYC tells TMZ ... Japan is strict about letting people into the country with recent drug convictions but these matters are handled "on a case by case basis."

Paris' rep added ... she will fulfill her contract but right now things are beyond her control.

We're told there was a conflict within the ranks of those who questioned Paris -- some of whom felt it was for show.

Numerous American, British, and other nationality rock and rollers have put on concerts in Japan after they had drug busts.

This is all about her popularity and their hatred of American or any other business people being successful in Japan. She was there to release her this years fashions and perfume line and that makes money for her not the Japanese nearly as much. It is Japanese spend their yen to buy American products and that sticks in their crawl. Their economy is in the toilet and it offends them that an American woman is so sucessful selling luxury items in their ****ry.

The Japanese are world famous for restricting trade in their favor by tactics like this.

I think America should stop kissing their asses and demand they open their markets to outside products and we here in America should stop buying their crap.

This is nothing more than a PR stunt and it shows what low life's the Japanese are.

Actually in most Asian countries if you commit a felony or even have a record they won't allow you to do business there. If you want to do business in Singapore they will check you criminal record first. Even being in a law suit can keep you out of some Asian countries, so that really doesn't surprise me that they questioned her. Quite honestly, she (most other people too) could use a dose of reality.

This is the end of the international road for Paris. No Asian country will allow her to inter with that kind of conviction.

BUSINESS TRIP!!! Who are they trying to kid?!?!?! Since when has this drug addicted junkie ever made any kind of BUSINESS trip? It makes her sound important - which is what PR is for. The ONLY trip this fu-cking CU-NT has ever gone on, is a cocaine trip. It's a pity she wasn't detained in Thailand. Then this whore cud stay at the Bangkok Hilton, free-board, for the next 22 years. ****ing CU-NT.

Regardless of what most think, U.S exports is depended of people like her. She is a wellknown brand abroad and represent everything a modern United States stands for.

Japan needs to overcome themselves. They need to be told a lesson so the export and the employees working in export businesses risking unemployment can be safe.

I call for reactivating Executive Order 9066 if they don't turn around and allow her to travel freely.

If someone should restrict her from traveling around and creating income for us, now where the rest of you are not over there and selling, it should be our authorities and nobody else.

Can Japan keep her? I am so tired of hearing of people like this get into trouble time after time and then getting a pat on the hand. People like this who continue to break the laws, need to be locked up in a real jail for a very long time with no special treatment, pay a very hefty fine (and their "room and board") and do months of community service physical work. Then, just maybe, they will actually learn what it is like for real people in and out of prison.

Thank you, Japan! Paris needs to learn a lesson. Laws DO apply to Ms. Hilton! Bad behavior is not, should not, be rewarded. Regarding a previous comment that she should be given a pass because of the money she's bringing in to this country (i.e., exports), this is the exactly the kind of thinking that has brought this country to the level of bad behavior and irresponsibility that permeates our society today.

@ Comment #196: You ignorant jackass. Executive orders in the US do not contradict another country's drug laws. You should also consider the fact that the US has all sorts or treaties with Japan to include SOFA. Paris and her drug problem are, unfortunately, ours; not Japan's. Send her drug-addled behind back to the US and let her suffer. The economics you are trying to spout about are theories we can do without.
