NFL Bad Ass Arrested for Ditching $27 Bar Tab

6/17/2011 12:05 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

His name is Raheem ... he's not a showgirl ... but he was arrested outside of a place called  the Copacabana last night after the Seattle Seahawks stud allegedly walked out on a $27 bar tab.

0617_Raheem_Brock_exd

Law enforcement sources tell us ...  Raheem Brock -- the starting defensive end for Seattle -- was arrested in Philadelphia when someone inside the Copacabana called 911 complaining the 6'4", 275-pounder left the establishment without paying his bill.

Cops responded to the scene, located Brock, and arrested him on suspicion of theft of services and resisting arrest -- both misdemeanors. We're told Brock did not get physical with the cops, but was "non-compliant" with the arresting officers.

Raheem -- who recently signed a 5-year, $23.6 MILLION contract -- was taken to a nearby jail where he was booked.

Calls to the club and Raheem have not been returned.

It's actually called the Copabananna. I have several friends who work there (none when this happened though. Damn it!). It's just a restaurant, not a club.

He probably thought he'd get special treatment for being "famous". Not if you don't play for Philly!

You got that right! No special treatment if you don't play for Philly. And the name correction is right also. And is'nt it a bar and restaurant? My daughter and her friends as well as a lot of young people hang out there all the time. It's a nice place.

The wait staff who called 911 over $27 should be the one arrested.
How does that constitute an emergency!?
--------------------------------------------------------------
@sharperadar:

Theft of goods and services from a restaurant is a valid reason to call 911 according to the Police. If the Police think it's a valid thing to do, why should anyone agree with you instead of the Police on this issue?

Most owners force the waiters to pay the whole tab for any diners who "dine and dash" like Raheem allegedly did. How would you like to be a waiter in a restaurant and have to give back your earnings from your tips to pay for punks who ate and drank at the restaurant you work in, and left without paying?

Or maybe he forgot to pay for whatever reason, and instead of the bar saying something to them they decide to call the cops to get some publicity for their bar when thi*****s the papers.....I mean like the article said he just signed a 23.6 million dollar contract. Is it logical to think he would intentially walk out on the tab or "steal" $27? No, and when the cops told him to "freeze, put your hands behind your back" i'm sure he was a bit hostile, and personally I wouldn't be mad at him if he said "What cause I'm black!?"
--------------------------------------------------------------

@Farrah:

How many times do you leave restaurants after having "forgotten" to pay your bill?

You're playing the "He was arrested because he was Black card" here? LMAO

How about he was arrested because he is a petty thief, allegedly?

Maybe he was in mourning, like the football player on the plane that wouldn't obey the airline people.

maybe he was just responding to the watered down, falsely bottled liquor the bar tried to pass off as the real stuff. cheating is cheating, no matter how many times you refill the hennessy bottle with moonshine. suckas!
------------------------------------------------------------

If he's stupid enough to order their watered down fake drinks, if that's what they were, then he should pay for them.

If he wants the City, State or Feds to investigate the restaurant for fraud, then he should pursue that avenue. Stealing food and drink from a restaurant is not considered by normal people to be justifiable or helpful to society.

The bar is actually called The Copabanana. Best margaritas around! He was probably so twisted he forgot to pay the tab.
---------------------------------------------------------------

@Jenny:

Sure, whatever you say. Bet it's not the first time he "forgot" to pay his bill. Maybe he has early onset Alzheimer's?

If he was so drunk that he forgot to pay the tab, I wonder was he was walking around "publicly intoxicated" which is a crime or did he plann to drive drunk which is another crime?

What if he just went out for a smoke?
--------------------------------------------------------------

@Tammy:

Pay your bill before you "go out for a smoke", and you won't get arrested.

Better yet, stop smoking. That **** is going to kill you. With the money you save not buying cigarettes, you'll be able to pay your bar and restaurant bills.

Don't be ridiculous.

He forgot to pay.
-------------------------------------------------------------
@Fred Farkel:

How is he going to remember how to run plays in the NFL if his memory is that bad?

Did he forget to eat, drink and breathe too?

What kind of person walks out of a restaurant, bar or store without paying for what they bought?

This guy doesn't deserve sympathy.

How is walking out on a bill a 911 call. In my neck of the woods if I call the police on 911 for a crime that already happned, they tell me to call the regular #.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
@Dirk:

Police tend to treat thefts from companies/businesses as emergencies if the thief is still at the scene of the crime.

Thefts from individuals are not treated as emergencies if the thief is no longer at the scene of the crime.

Don't know why they tend to discriminate against individuals in favor of companies but they seem to do that often.

These football players keep making the news because it's sensational. Not because they are dumb or black or rich but because it sells. Football players are used to a very structured work environment with OTA's, 3 a days, football camp and preseason and with the current CBA in flux they are all on an extended vacation. It's like college kids on spring break, they make questionable decisions but don't usually make the papers.
I'd like to know if there was any effort from the wait staff to get his attention and let him know he didn't pay his tab. Or if like someone else said is this just a way for some establishment to make the news and get free advertising.
Jeez $27 is maybe 4 beers these days... I'll pay his tab for him.
And yes I am from Seattle so cut the brother some slack.
------------------------------------------------------------

@TommyKnockers 3 hours ago

The problem is he will want you to pick up his tab for him every day and for every meal and all his drinks every day too, not just for that 1 time he "forgot" to pay for what he remembered to order. Are you ready to pay for all his food and drinks for the rest of his life? No? Didn't think so.

The guy is just a selfish, inconsiderate, immoral, disgusting thief. I hope I didn't hurt his feelings. Don't want him to start crying or nothing. What a big baby he is!

$27 might not be a lot to you or to him, but a waiter has to serve on average over $200 of food to earn $27 in tips. That's a lot of work a waiter (who maybe makes $40,000 a year and) has to do to support an NFL player who's making over $4 million a year and thinks he doesn't have to pay for his drinks and meals in restaurants and bars.

They should also haul in the idiot who called 911 over a bar tab.
----------------------------------------------------------------

Theft is theft. Raheem is lucky no one roughed him up. Still, as far as we know, Raheem didn't have a dog fighting business and no dogs were hurt or killed in Raheem's theft of services, so most people will forgive him if he can catch some footballs.

Maybe the Seahawks should sign agreements with all the bars and restaurants in America that the Seattle Seahawks team will pay for all of Raheem's food and drinks (and add 15% tips) since Raheem can't remember to pay his restaurant and bar bills himself.

Hope you weren't traumatized by the bad service at the bar restaurant that gave you such bad service that you decided to go back there and get some more bad service. LMAO ROFL!!!

Way to go TommyKnockers from Seattle! Sticking up for your peeps. I am from Philly, and you do have a good point in wondering if the wait staff attempted to make him aware of his tab. Because, he could have been tipsy, tired or whatever and innocently forgot to pay. I doubt very seriously if he did not have 27 dollars and some in his pocket to pay an almost nothing tab. Maybe because of his size and race, the people were too intimidated to just come out and let him know that he did not pay his tab and how much he still owes them. That's how some people here in Philly operate, like punks. As for this maybe being a way of getting advertisement, I kind of would'nt think so, but instead I would think they just did not know who he was, because if they did, they would be trying to get his autograph which would give their establishment more notariety instead of chasing down a 27 dollar tab. Because, if the management knew who he was, they would also know that he can afford to buy that entire establishment if he wanted to and rehire that very same wait staff that called 911 on him. If they knew that he was an NFL star as oppose to a hood rat (which someone on here called him), they probably would have been saying to all their other customers something like, "Guess who that is? Blah Blah Blah..." That's the way most establishments here in Philly get their publicity. They get autographed pictures and hang them all around in their establishment for everyone to see that this person ate/drank here.
