NFL Bad Ass Arrested for Ditching $27 Bar Tab

6/17/2011 12:05 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

His name is Raheem ... he's not a showgirl ... but he was arrested outside of a place called  the Copacabana last night after the Seattle Seahawks stud allegedly walked out on a $27 bar tab.

Law enforcement sources tell us ...  Raheem Brock -- the starting defensive end for Seattle -- was arrested in Philadelphia when someone inside the Copacabana called 911 complaining the 6'4", 275-pounder left the establishment without paying his bill.

Cops responded to the scene, located Brock, and arrested him on suspicion of theft of services and resisting arrest -- both misdemeanors. We're told Brock did not get physical with the cops, but was "non-compliant" with the arresting officers.

Raheem -- who recently signed a 5-year, $23.6 MILLION contract -- was taken to a nearby jail where he was booked.

Calls to the club and Raheem have not been returned.

Don't be ridiculous.

He forgot to pay.

@Fred Farkel:

How is he going to remember how to run plays in the NFL if his memory is that bad?

Did he forget to eat, drink and breathe too?

What kind of person walks out of a restaurant, bar or store without paying for what they bought?

This guy doesn't deserve sympathy.

@Janar:

The article implied he walked out of the establishment. He didn't fly or swim out of it, so he must have walked out of it. The article said the police responded to the scene and located him. The "scene of the crime" includes the immediate environs (surroundings) around the bar/restaurant and not only the interior of the establishment.

I don't hate him. I hate what he did, walking out on his $27 bill and sticking it to the guy or gal who served him his meal and/or drinks. That is disgusting behavior and he should suffer the consequences for it. You know this guy is a celebrity so he won't be going to jail over this, but he should be embarrassed and he shouldn't do it again. Some celebrities think they have the right to take a dump on the "little" or "average" or "common" people. This guy needs a lesson in humility and humanity.

@javie benz:

No one should "get a pass" breaking the law. Not even if you're Black and the police officer is White. Not even then. Blacks don't deserve better treatment from the Police or the Courts than Reds, Yellows, Whites, Purples or Polka Dotted People.

You sound like a racist.

For all those people who like to pass judgement and make comments before they know ALL the facts.... According to the server who SURPRISE... spoke up IN DEFENSE of Raheem, he came to the Copa with his date, who was in a foul mood and she wanted something that wasn't on the menu. When she was told they would not prepare what she wanted, she wanted to leave and Raheem didn't and he told her to chill out. Becoming visibly un-chilled, she stormed out, went to another establishment and got take out of what she wanted and came back into the Copa and sat down and started eating her food.

The server, and then management told her no outside food would be allowed. She ignored them and continued eating. Raheem tried to reason with her but she just got more and more ballistic to the point that management put them out of the establishment. THEY DID AS THEY WERE ASKED! Once outside, the server says, "hey he had a bar tab he didn't pay" IT IS NORMAL TO RUN A BAR TAB WHEN YOU ARE ALSO GOING TO SIT DOWN FOR A MEAL! The bar tab is then added to your meal tab when you are finished.

They were asked to leave before they got their meal or bill. Management calls the police and they stop him outside the establishment and accuse him of "theft of services". As far as the "resisting" charge goes, even according to TMZ, he did not get physical. Resisting no longer means getting physical with the cops. When they detain you for something the officer has the option of putting cuffs on you if he feels endangered. He more than likely told Raheem to voluntarily let them cuff him up "for his own safety" or sit in the patrol car, and already being agitated from the whole situation, he probably said... WTF? and there you have "non physical" resisting.

Granted... when Five-O asks you to "comply" you should always immediately comply and not give them any excuse to take things further. But for $27.00, I'm sure he would have been happy to pay if EVERYONE had approached the situation more rationally.

If the server, (who would have had to pay the tab) is defending Raheem and speaking up in, theres more to the story than just another NAWA acting up...

@Paladin:

Maybe Raheem should learn to pay his bar tab before he leaves a restaurant.

Maybe he shouldn't date women who bring food from 1 restaurant into another restaurant and start eating the 1st restaurant's food in the 2nd restaurant. Who does something like that if they're not Non Compos Mentis?'

The restaurant bar was right to kick them out for her eating food she brought in from another restaurant and he was wrong not to pay his bar tab before he left.

If you don't understand that, you don't understand Jack.

Them's the facts, Jack.

Totally not surprised. I work in a bar that celbs frequent and they walk out on tabs all the time......and the white ones do it too. It's not about what color they are, it's about feeling entitled to something their not. Glad they finally called the cops on one of them for doing it because the employees are the ones that get stuck paying the bill for a walk out.
