Charlie Harper

Dies Tragic Death

6/27/2011 1:17 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

"Two and a Half Men" will turn dark for just a minute or two when it premieres in September ... because Alan and Jake will learn Charlie Harper bit the dust.

Sources connected with the show tell TMZ ... Chuck Lorre's plan is to make sure Charlie Sheen can NEVER come back on the show.  Although the first show won't be filmed until August 5, producers have been kicking around scenarios, which include Charlie driving a car over a cliff.

Of course, it would be art imitating life, because two of Charlie Sheen's cars went down a cliff on Mulholland Drive.

As for how Ashton Kutcher enters the picture, there's been talk that he buys Charlie's house after Charlie kicks the bucket.

Sources tell us ... the first script still isn't locked and Lorre often makes changes until close to taping, but it's pretty clear -- Charlie Harper is pushin' up daisies.

What a terrible idea. Just end the show now if that's the alternative. Every comedy that I have watched throughout the years that introduces a tragic storyline like this is finished. If you want to continue the show without CS just make his character leave, for instance going to England or having to live underground because of tax evasion, anything but death - Keeping CH alive allows for comedic banter regarding him. (a good portion of the jokes are at CHs expense) Making fun of him in death would not have the same appeal. Not going to work, Lots of Luck, Ashton.

That's not very creative, considering 2 of his cars have mysteriously driven off cliff's all by themselves in the past year and a half.

WELL THERE WILL BE NO SAVING THE SHOW ONCE IT BOMBS UNLESS CHARLIE MIRACULOUSLY SURVIVES SOME HOW. NEWAY GUESS WE'LL WAIT AND SEE IF THE SHOW WILL BE ANYGOOD... I PERSONALLY THINK IT DOESNT STAND MUCH OF A CHANCE WITHOUT CHARLIE (CHARLIE SHEEN IS CHARLIE HARPER. (RIP MR. HARPER)

ONLY mental MIDGETS think this show is funny

That's pretty funny coming from some 'tard who reads and comments on a sh*t-for-brains celebrity gossip rag like TMZ.

Yessss!!! Kill that ass off this show so he cannot come back. For those of you who say he's in recovery, there's been nothing that suggests that whatsoever, nuthin. They also haven't locked in that this will be the script but I'm sure glad they plan to have him killed off.

This show will be a metaphor for Chuck Lorre having driving the show off a cliff... It's dead, Chuck.

I was a huge fan of the show and swore I'd never watch again if Charlie wasn't on BUT Jon Cryer is also one of my favorites therefore, for him, I must give it a chance. Although I will say the only way Ashton owning the house would work would be to have him as Charlie's secret "love child" and he inherits it after Charlie's death. It's just the only common sense way to have everyone still live in the home. As for Chuck Lorre, he deserves for someone to drive him off a cliff!

Really poor taste tagging this story under RIP. Following this past week of Ryan Dunn, Peter Falk & Clarence Clemins passings, to bring up the site with a 'humorous' posting using the tag is revolting. Understood the site doesn't always take itself or its stories too seriously but I find it disrespectful to those who have passed and their families who may view the post.

Sounds like Chuck Lorre is still riding Charlie Sheen's ****tail. Chuck is using Charlie Sheen's star power to get high rating for the season. Instead have Allen marry a rich old lady. She buys him a Malibu beach property, Jake and the House keeper moves in with Allen and Ashtorn Kutcher comes in as a phony rich prince who's new in town and looking for a roommate. Don't mention Charlie Sheen at all, don't show his pad.

Main characters, and ensamble characters like Charlie Harper are killed off all the time and the series survives. Look at any of the CSI or NCIS series when they replace a major charracter! They usually KILL the character.

During the last original 2.5 Men episode that aired Charlie Harper and Rose were headed for the airport to catch a flight to Paris. Apparently Lorrre and Co do not want a plane crash because it kills too many (fake) people. If Charlie has an accident on his way to the airport, I really hope Rose survives the crash off Mullhuland or wherever.

Yes, Ashton would make a great "found in the woodpile" son of Charlie Harper.
