Kurt Angle

I Wasn't Too Drunk to Drive

9/6/2011 11:40 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Wrestling superstar Kurt Angle says his blood alcohol level was WAY under the legal limit when he was arrested for drunk driving this weekend ... and now TMZ has a police document that seems to back up his story.

We've obtained the Certificate of Blood Alcohol Analysis ... issued by the State of Virginia ... which shows Kurt's B.A.C. was .06 at the time of his arrest. The legal limit in VA is .08.

The TNA Wrestling champ has released a statement on the matter ... saying, "I did not believe my driving behavior was reckless or otherwise improper."

He adds, "I fully cooperated with the officer who clearly recognized me while performing his standard procedures. Subsequent to the stop, I was asked to submit to a breathalyzer test and passed. I do not believe that I broke any laws and will be entering a plea of not guilty in response to any pending charges."

As TMZ previously reported, troopers pulled over Angle's car after receiving a tip from another motorist ... who claimed the wrestler was driving erratically.

Angle explains, "I was returning from an iMPACT Wrestling show in an unfamiliar place, late at night and was trying to find the exit for my hotel."

VA does not only do one blood breathalyzer, they do 3, and they do them so many minutes apart, to see how fast it drops to also tell how much you have drank. Lets see the one in the beginning, I bet this is the last one!

Seeing a lot of comments about his BAC, well they may have waited a couple of hours to test him. That will elevate the BAC, so what he needs to do is go to trial. either way if he pleads guilty, or is convicted the sentence will be the same. They cannot say, "well since you want a trial, we will argue that you deserve a year in prison." Plea agreement makes no sense at all. Why make the prosecutor's job easy? Make them prove their case.

A terrible minion, this Kurt Angle. First he lost control of his neck, then control of his motor vehicle. Kurtis has become the epitome of a disappointment.

According to NVDaily, the local online news that covers the area of Shenandoah County, he blew a .091 at the scene. The .06 was AFTER transport to the police station.

I live in Warren County where he was arrested and at the initial stop, his BAC was .091 and he failed the field tests. By the time they got to the police station, it had dropped down to .06. There is about a 15 minute drive from the pullover to the police station.

Wow, yet another "Guilty until proven innocent" case. I'm not saying he's innocent but you guys really don't like your Constitution much, do ya?

Just because someone has a BAC of .06 doesn't mean they aren't impaired. FTY - drugs will not give you a BAC!

Kurt . . . you STILL drove after you had been drinking. You are a criminal and what's worse you are making excuses for your pathetic choice. You can rot in TNA, you belong there with Jeff Hardy.
