Penn State Coaches

Urge Players' Friends & Family:

"Wear White for JoePa"

11/10/2011 3:44 PM PST BY TMZ STAFF

1111_penn_state_exMultiple sources connected with the Penn State football team tell TMZ ... coaches held a meeting with players today and told them their friends and family should show support for ousted coach Joe Paterno by wearing white to the game on Saturday.

It's a bold move, considering there is a university-wide move for people in the stands to wear baby blue to support the alleged sexual assault victims of Jerry Sandusky

In addition to wearing white, we're told the coaches informed the team they may change the time and location of the pre-game meal because of security concerns.

And, we're told, the coaches assured the players there would be "enhanced security" for the game.

I was appalled by the college student responses tonight. They can't think for themselves. "I'm so confused". They are pathetic. They might wake up if you ask -- What if it was your best friend or brother who was being raped? Can they find their moral compass now?

this article is faulse!! White was orginally to be worn for SENIOR day. However students have changed that and will be wearing blue anti child abuse t-shirts. TMZ should get their facts straight!

This game should not be played. Penn State should be done for the season and beyond.

What if one of the boys were JoePa's? Would he have looked the other way to save his job??????? Shame, shame on him.

There's what 4 games left in the season....I say forfeit and shut down the whole football program, fire any admin. that had any knowledge (I'm sure alot of them since it's been going on since the 90's) and ALL of them should walk away with their heads hung in shame. Hire all new staff and try again next year.

Throwback kid

They should wear BLACK for the death of the Penn State football program, from now on phrases like "sodomy" and "anal sex in the shower" will forever be linked with Penn State.

When you read about the poor 8 year old boy who was thrilled to be going to a Penn State football game, and you know what is in store for him you would like to blow up that football building

I still say if that was Paterno's grandson being sodomized by that coach in the shower Joe would have called the police that day and had him arrested

Anyone who supports this is: 1) Not a parent 2) Never been raped or molested 3) Retarded 4) A pedophile 5) Has no moral standing and needs to hang themselves! The whole staff needs to be fired, and the parents need to be arrested b/c the dropped the ball as well! I can't WAIT when the victims speak there piece, ****s gonna hit the roof!

Joe Paterno has hired a prominent Washington criminal defense lawyer to represent him in the Penn State sex abuse case, a source close to the case told NBC News.

J. Sedgwick Sollers, who once represented President George H.W. Bush in the Iran-Contra affair, was hired by Paterno on Thursday. The longtime Penn State football coach was fired Wednesday night after disclosures in a grand jury report that one of his assistants informed him in 2002 about an alleged incident of sexual abuse by former defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky.

Paterno has not been charged with any crimes in the case. He has been described as a cooperating witness in the case. Two other university officials who Paterno told about the incident were charged this week with failing to report Sandusky's conduct to legal authorities and perjury.

Sollers declined to comment Thursday night. He is the managing partner in the Washington office of King & Spalding, a major Atlanta-based law firm.

A source close to Paterno said that in addition to the investigations by the Pennsylvania Attorney General's Office, the former coach is concerned about the likelihood of civil lawsuits by Sandusky's alleged victims and their families.
