National League MVP

Tests Positive for

Performance-Enhancing Drugs

12/11/2011 3:51 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF

Newly-voted National League MVP Ryan Braun from the Milwaukee Brewers has tested positive for performance-enhancing drugs -- but the baseball star is challenging the accusations.

According to multiple reports, Braun was tested during the playoffs this year -- and the test showed his system contained elevated levels of testosterone.

28-year-old Braun is fighting the results, telling the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, he's the victim of "highly unusual circumstances" -- adding, "This is all B.S. I am completely innocent."

Braun faces a 50-game suspension if the results are upheld.

If true, MLB should not only suspend Braun for 50 games but also demand that he return his MVP trophy and vacant his title.

maybe he had elevated levels of jock itch and MLB says that is a no no.

Ryan Braun is another lousy cheater who once said that if caught it was best to admit it right away. Take you own advice Ryan and fess up we all know you took designer steroids. No excuses. Braun is no better than Roger Clemens, Alex Rodriguez, Mark McGwire, Jose Canseco, Sammy Sosa, Manny Ramirez. They all cheated.

Did somebody put it in your gatorade and you knew nothing? Not buying your story dude. And this is one of the reasons I quit viewing sports and going to games.

It is a PED. It was tested twice.
Braun had taken a synthetic form testosterone. He knew what it was, he knew it was for enhancing physical performance, he knew it is a banned drug.

Unfortunately, you can't just "take away" the MVP award, as it comes from baseball writers - not MLB. Braun CAN volunteer to give it up... but that would take a certain amount of moral fortitude, that a player who takes PEDs, then denies it - doesn't have. That's why Clemens still has his Cy Youngs. Sad.

Baseball is such a pathetic sport. Why do you even need to take performance enhancing drugs to compete in such an easy sport? 80% of baseball players are out of shape. Is it that difficult to keep up with a bunch of tobacco chewing fatties?

has anyone here EVER been accused and assumed guilty for something they NEVER did?? If not, shut the hell up because you DON'T know how often this happens in this country. FIRST OF ALL....TMZ should wise up and stop running headlines that are misleading and just plain wrong. His test ONLY showed an increase in testosterone. NOT ANY DRUGS. There are many reasons for an increase in testosterone ranging from genetics to disease. I hope he gets a GOOD medically educated lawyer and sues the hell out of them.
