Jovan Belcher

KC Chiefs Bankrolling

Player's Funeral

12/7/2012 4:00 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF
EXCLUSIVE

1206-jovan-belcher-chiefs-getty
The Kansas City Chiefs organization is paying for Jovan Belcher's funeral arrangements ... and has offered financial assistance to Kasandra Perkins' family as well ... TMZ has learned.

Sources directly involved with the situation tell us ... the Chiefs have made it clear they don't want either family to be stuck with the massive bills stemming from the funerals or memorial services.

We're told members of Belcher's family -- which now has custody of the couple's orphaned newborn baby --  graciously accepted the offer ... and the team will cover all of the costs of Belcher's memorial in KC and funeral in NY.

It's unclear if Perkins' family has accepted the offer as well.

When called for comment, a rep for the Chiefs told us, "We are assisting both families with arrangements ... We just prefer not to get into specifics of what we are doing or have done."

Calls to the Belcher and Perkins families have not been returned.

A very kind offer by the Chiefs to help out with the arrangements (TMZ not sure if bankroll is the appropriate word here).. Best wishes to both families, this was indeed a tragedy for all involved..

Why not bankroll the victims' funeral?

I understand that they are trying to lessen the burden to the family but this guy is a piece of garbage. What about the girlfriends funeral?? What about HER family? They're grieving too. They lost a daughter/sister and now are probably torn between wanting to be involved with an infant that will be a constant reminder of this tragedy.

A memorial service for a cold blooded murderer are you fn kidding me? Donate the money to a battered women's shelter.

Nice.

Commit murder, then subject two people to your suicide, traumatizing them for life, then the s***bag sports team foots your bills to bury your sorry carcass.

my suggestion to TMZ, maybe stop trying to reach their families for comment, I am sure they are not up for it.
