49ers Legend Ronnie Lott

Chris Culliver

Is DEAD WRONG

1/31/2013 9:55 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF
EXCLUSIVE

0131_ronnie_lott_chris_culliver

Chris Culliver should have paid closer attention to Barack Obama's pro-gay rights inauguration speech ... this according to one of the greatest 49ers of all time ... Ronnie Lott.

We spoke to Lott in the wake of Culliver's anti-gay comments -- when he told Artie Lange gay players shouldn't be allowed in the team locker room (see video below).

Lott responded, "Everything [Obama] mentioned in that speech I stand for-- inviting gays and inviting people of color, inviting all of us to understand what we're doing right now, is the right thing."

FYI -- Obama talked about the importance of gay rights during his speech ... telling Americans, "Our journey is not complete until our gay brothers and sisters are treated like anyone else under the law."

So far, the 49ers have not said if Culliver will play in Sunday's game.

this needs to change right now.. this football players needs to understand .. that his thinking will get players killed.. and that needs to change. cause little boys who look up to him will take action against gay players all because of what this fool has said.. nope get him out of there.. and let the other players who think like this know .. its not going to be tallerated by anyone. free speech is one thing hate speech is another.. and this is hate speech .fire him from the team is what i say... let him know with out a doubt that its wrong to talk like that.. and act like that.. so the young will understand that is not right to think like that.. and its wrong..

I'm a black American man I feel offended when gay people try to compare themselves with the black American experience no one went around in white sheets hanging gays you don't get pulled over by cops because you're gay gays were not beat and whipped

We are talking about San Fran here folks. It is a very serious crime to say anything negative about gays. If you think about it tho, a locker room would be a ***s ultimate score. Big sweaty burly strong men with large packages showering. Be more excited than Richard Simmons at a dildo convention.

You host of TMZ are idiots and I do not appreciate you comparing this gay stuff to blacks and civil rights. There is no comparison dumb asses. How dare you say what if he was called the n word. Call him a N word and I bet you'll get your ass kicked. This man has a right to feel the way he does. Freedom of speech is only free when your not against homosexuality. He should not be fired for his beliefs. You all need to get a life and stop messing with people's lives.

Wow so touchy touchy.....funny how majority of blks are saying effed that gays compare themselves to them. When reality gays have it harder than you....they get killed for being the way God made them, get deny apartments/houses due to their relationship, and still are fighting for equal rights and the right to marry the person they love. You aren't slaves nor were you ever one, your ancestors were, so get over it! Just an FYI your ancestors weren't the only ones enslaved, beaten, and raped by the white men. Also you're not the only colored minorities that still come across racism today...the gays are also minorities for their sexual orientation.

leave the guy alone. if the gays can taunt us, our mothers, fathers, and children, with their gay pride, then we too can embrace our anti-gay beliefs as well!! Gays aren't the only ones with a say. Its good its getting legally recognized, but keep that in your bedroom. everybody doesn't support gayness!! this is y religion isn't teached in schools bcz you and I may not have the same beliefs... He was asked about his beliefs, let him, like gays, speak loudly about that... soon as someone says something about gay, people go bananas. well I go bananas for my child seeing stuff like that, confusing her. some kids are easily influenced and are gay now as a fad, not as some genetic makeup..

The idea that everyone has an opinion worth hearing or worth stating is a fallacy.

Prejudice is just plain wrong.
