Robert Griffin III

Even COWBOYS Fans Should Root for My Recovery

RG3 is right on track to make his triumphant return to the NFL by Week 1 ... and the Washington Redskins quarterback tells TMZ ... even his rivals should be rooting for his recovery.

Mr. Griffin III was getting ready to take his seat in the National Memorial Day parade in D.C. yesterday -- honoring our men and women in uniform -- when we asked the 23-year-old about his obliterated right knee.

RG3 -- who looked pretty healthy during a speed-walk to his waiting vehicle -- eventually got into his parade car with his mother and father ... both U.S. Army vets.

Robert's right ... how can you NOT root for this guy???

This guy is great for football, an I'm not even a Redskins fan. Thanks to his parents for their military service, and (apparently) raising a decent young man.

Saw him play in '07 State Championship. He lost against Lamar Consolidated HS (my team) and Jacquizz Rodgers. Of course he's awesome though, he's from TEXAS. And I am also a huge DALLAS COWBOYS fan, but you gotta respect talent.

I wish this great athlete and fine gentleman was still in Texas playing for the Texans, but Washington has one of the great's on their team....so, I'll just have to cheer for them until RG3 either comes back to Texas or retires from Football. I'm a RG3 fan for life.

RG III is a class act. He's brought hope to Redskins fans, whose dedication is legend. No other place is literally carpeted with team gear when the team's lost for decades.
