'RHONJ' Star Danielle Staub

Handles Bankruptcy

Way Better Than Indicted Co-Star

EXCLUSIVE

While Teresa Giudice faces time behind bars for alleged bankruptcy fraud ... another 'Real Housewife' is making sure she doesn't suffer a similar fate ... by coughing up $35,000.

"Real Housewives of New Jersey" star Danielle Staub filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy back in June 2012, claiming she was knee deep in debt ... approx. $500,000 to $1,000,000.

As part of the bankruptcy process Danielle had to disclose all her assets ... that way when creditors came to clean her out they'd know how much loot is available.

FYI -- this is the part where some people get in trouble because they try to hide cash and valuables ... hoping Uncle Sam and creditors won't notice.

According to legal docs, filed last month, Danielle was accused of doing just that. Rather than keep up the charade, DS agreed to fork over $35k to her creditors to help settle her debts ... and avoid any nasty consequences.

If she didn't settle ... Danielle might be in a similar boat to co-stars Teresa and Joe Giudice -- who are being federally indicted on 39 counts of fraud (including hiding assets during bankruptcy). They face 30 years in prison.

Good choice, Danielle.

People do not understand that Bankruptcy and Bank fraud is all passed on to consumers. it could mean higher interest rates on cars houses and other loans. the rates could be a half of percent and higher to offset cost. it is just like Department stores raise prices to offset for theft. Banks do it but in other ways. Check what Percentage you are Paying on Credit Cards, Do you think that the Free Miles are Free. The Cost come from higher interest rates.

That vindictive lawyer who was thrown out of the Christmas party at Melissa's is the lawyer who went after them. Consequence of rejecting her I guess.

After the way Teresa treated Danielle on the show she has got to be sitting back grinning like a Chesire Cat right about now. The absolute best revenge for Danielle would be for Bravo to bring her back on the show and fire Teresa.

Can't someone hold Teresa down and shave her forehead?

Why is that gutless wonder Andy Cohen not commenting about this on his show?

There are a lot of people, in NJ anyway who think they can just run up credit cards and then declare bankruptcy. It is only a matter of time before they get another card and do it again. They could be hoarders, show offs, or selfish pigs. I think the laws are too lax really.

There are people who do this on purpose and know what the outcome will be all along. They never have any intention of paying the money back. They maybe think it is cool cause the banks rip people off, I don't know. Maybe they are just selfish like the banks are also.

I don't think you will ever be happy and enjoy what you have if you steal it. Just a thought.

WTF with this bankruptcy crap and these huge moneymakers filing? That is a load of crap. They should be forced to sell everything they own and given a payment plan and if it takes them 500 years oh well. Why the hell should I be liable for their debt when I keep myself out of debt and pay everything I owe promptly?

There is nothing i want more than to see Andy Cohen and Bravo take some responsibility in the demise of their own cast members. The feds have to start looking at people who know about crimes, cover them up and exploit them. Bravo purposely digs up financial history, mental conditions and family and friend problems as they search for a cast and makes them an offer they can not refuse. Please write to your Senators to pressure the Feds to follow up and hold these producers responsible.

More like Real Housewives of The New Jersey Prison System. Such ignorance. Such grandiosity. Such entitlement. And they spawned? Oy. I got nauseas the first time I saw them. Not seeing them for 20 or 30 years might bring me to tears of joy. Jackasses.

Hmmm, how come not a single bank exec is facing criminal charges? They presented fraudulent docs to the foreclosure courts by the thousands!
