Paul Walker Death

Image in Burning Porsche Video is NOT Paul

Paul Walker did NOT make a final desperate attempt to escape the burning wreckage -- and the image seen in video shot right after the crash is definitely NOT Paul ... TMZ has learned.

There had been rampant speculation and buzz on the Internet that a shadowy figure seen around 23 seconds into the video of the burning Porsche Carrera GT ... was Walker trying to get out of the vehicle, but sources connected to the investigation now say it just isn't so ... for several reasons.

First, the sources tell us that, based on photographs of the wreckage ... Paul's body was pinned in an area of the car that makes it clear he couldn't have been flailing outside the vehicle.

Also ...we're told that based on the injuries he suffered, Paul died within a nanosecond of impact, and therefore it's impossible for the image in the video to be him.

It's not clear how long after impact the video starts, but clearly more than a nanosecond.

As for what the image really is -- we're told law enforcement has watched the video, and based on evidence from the crash site ... it appears to be a part of the car's roof burning.

I hope his family gets some comfort from knowing Paul died almost instantaneously. Although I suspect they already knew that.

So if there is no video tape of him burning up, are we still sure he is dead? TMZ, use your investigational tools to solve the mystery.

Bullcrap. Another site has pictures of the charred body after they removed the tarp just before the ambulance took the remains. His body wasn't pinned, his legs were. The image is clearly of him frantically trying to escape. I imagine that he was probably knocked unconscious in the initial collision, but the shock of the fire and heat would probably cause him to "wake" up to fight for his life. Poor man. RIP Paul.

it's far better to die quick than to be trapped knowing your going to be burned alive.

is there a memorial cross sign there??

That "rampant speculation and buzz" came directly from TMZ and no where else. You s***bags are the ones probably sitting there watching the damn video on repeat like its a fetish film. Enough already. From the start you have been planting stories about drag racing, now this. I bet it was someone from TMZ who called in the report of a second vehicle, wouldn't put it past you idiots.

Mommager Kris doesn't like the attention away from her brood. Watch for excessive irrelevant news stories from them.

Our PRECIOUS ANGEL Paul is stealing the spotlight.

The continued coverage of this horrible accident is in complete bad taste of TMZ and the media. I feel sorry for his family and frinds.

TMZ - Please stop. Let the man rest in peace. There is no more to tell. No breaking news. No ghost walking around the car or at the crash site. Nothing. Just stop.

If a nanosecond is long enough for fire to be a contributing factor to death, then yes, a nanosecond. I sure seems that people are going out of their way to not say that he was burned to death......

According to reports, the vehicle didn't blow up for, I believe they said 60 seconds after the initial crash so if Paul died a nanosecond after impact, how did he die of blunt force trauma AND thermal injuries?
Wouldn't he have still been alive after the fire started? Or did the coroner base the thermal injuries on the fact Paul was burned?

How did he die a nanosecond after impact if the coroner ruled his death as trauma AND burn injuries? Conflicting stories, TMZ!
