Philip Seymour Hoffman

Planning for Long Heroin Binge

2/3/2014 12:30 PM PST BY TMZ STAFF
Exclusive Details

Philip Seymour Hoffman
was clearly prepping to use heroin for the long haul before he died, because we now know ... cops found approximately 50 heroin bags in the NYC apartment.

Law enforcement sources initially put the number of bags at 10 ... but now we know the number is 5 times that.  Our sources say a number of the bags were full ... along with a number of unused needles.  The upshot ... Hoffman was ready for a heroin binge.

This makes the story about a possible drug deal at an ATM Saturday night even more interesting ... if Hoffman purchased a large quantity of heroin.

This was SO ACCIDENTAL....the s h i t people are selling is mixed with freaking fentanyl which in that combo is certain death......and 50 small sacks...not a long haul binge....some addicts use 5-10 a DAY.....TMZ you don't know JACK. This man did not want to DIE.

A junkie dies and leaves behind his children and you people praise him and feel sorry for him. Why? Because he was an excellent actor. Hahaha this world is a joke!

Too many enablers here. This man-child made a stupid choice and it cost him his life. Don't glamorize an overdose. This was an act of overindulgence and pure selfishness. When you have kids you are to think of your kids first, always. You don't go on heroin binges. You man up and move on. Great actor, hell yes. But that legacy is now ruined. He's now just another dead junkie. Stop enabling people who should be slapped upside the head.

Funny that the same people who talked horribly about that Kriss Kross dude, has so much compassion for this guy here. A junkie is a junkie, right? Most of you said this in May when the other guy died using the same drugs.

I feel bad for anyone who battles addition and for their families, regardless of race. Rest peacefully, dude.

That wasn't a binge that could of been to get him through the afternoon

That's not a binge... 50 bags is a weeks supply. And what's with the addiction stigma and bashing him online, can't everyone just remember him as Scotty in "Boogie Nights"?

Sooo if I'm a junkie who OD's it's just another dead junkie and my dealer is unimportant, but if I appeared in some Hollywood movies it's now a 'tragedy', I had a 'weakness', those who don't sympathize need 'education', and folks are now interested in tracking down my dealer.

Good to know.
