Roger Rodas

$1 MIL Life Insurance Policy for Kids

4/17/2014 12:30 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF
EXCLUSIVE

0416_roger_rodas_facebook
Roger Rodas -- who died with Paul Walker in a fiery car crash -- left his children lots of financial security ... in the form of a $1 million life insurance policy.

Rodas' kids are 10 and 12.  Their mom, Kristine Rodas, has petitioned for a guardianship ... presumably so she can manage the money on behalf of her children.

There are tinges of sadness in the legal docs.  Kristine says she's the children's closest adult relative and their relationship is "loving."

The good news ... Roger provided well for them.

Life instance is tax free so the kids get the entire sum. Having their father back would be even better, but....

Too bad he wasn't a responsible driver so his kids wouldn't need insurance money. Driving like a mad man on city streets on 8 year old tires. What a fool.

The tires were actually 9 years old, but anyway.

Some people keep saying that no one remembers Roger. People do remember him. It's the fact that he was the one behind the wheel, sped and killed Paul in the process. Yes, Roger died as well, but an actor died with him, so of course the latter is going to more attention. This shouldn't be shocking to anyone.

Also, Kristine is moving to Las Vegas because they don't feel too welcomed where they are anymore due to what happened. She also closed down her dancing studio after the accident.

TMZ, this is a horribly written article. A mother would not have to get guardianship of her own children, but a step-mother would. Clearly, she was their step-mother. Write the article so it makes sense.

A million dollars will never replace their Dad.

Hard stuff for a child to process and accept.
My heart goes out to any child who lost a parent.

How about thinking of your kids before you got in that car, drove like an a-hole and killed yourself and Paul Walker. What a loser!
