NFL Star Josh Cribbs Delivers on $10,000 Baseball Promise
Cleveland Browns superstar Josh Cribbs smacked one outta the park with college baseball fans ... 'cause he just came through strong on a promise to put $10k towards a fan road trip to the College World Series.
Cribbs -- who famously attended Kent State University -- was fired up when his alma mater finally earned a spot to play in the CWS in Omaha, Nebraska ... and wanted to make sure the stands were packed with Golden Flashes fans.
So Cribbs put $10k of his own money towards a fan road trip from Cleveland to NE ... so 46 KSU fans could afford to make the journey.
Josh's cash went towards a charter bus, food, shirts, tickets to the games and hotel accommodations -- and in the end, the fans only had to fork over an extra $150 each to cover the remainder of the bill.
Cribbs -- who holds the NFL record with eight kickoff returns for touchdowns -- was there when the bus hit the road this morning (see video) and plans on flying out tomorrow after practice to see the Golden Flashes play their first ever game in the CWS.
It ain't gonna be easy for KSU -- they're all set to square off against a tough Arkansas squad in their first game.
